It's the air! Or just them being excited & it shows.

Remember the same thing happen to Hobi. Once they land in the US, he became Jay, the sexy confident alter ego.

Tbh all of them really glow when they were there, probably the lighting brings out their beautiful skin tones.

And lol the way Rosamund Pike dodge the guy in front of her to get clearer view of Tae is a whole mood.

The gifs the pann OP posted look very similar to some music shows and award shows in Korea. On stage while performing with the bright lights, most countries/shows will look the same.

Nonetheless - Undertones are interesting. "The lighting in America suits V's face really well.. They're either really red or yellow.."

Pink/Red-ish:

Yellow-ish:

White/grey-ish:

(Korea)

Plus different make ups each have different undertones. And each show physical lights on set are different too. So base on all of these things one's skin tone can appear different depending on the situation.

Anyways in conclusion  - "My boys always look handsome, no matter where they are or what they do.. They have never looked ugly and I think that's really unfair for us..ã… ã…

It's because popular Korean lighting/filters are super bright and cool toned due to societal colorism and the way people just think that making someone's skin look whiter=better. That's why at Korean award shows the red carpet is always lit like a public bathroom (I don't know if they're actually using florescent lights but it's what it looks like). And it's really unflattering on anyone who isn't really naturally pale.

Whereas in the West, the standard of beauty is tan skin, so lighting is usually dimmer and has a red/yellow filter to give everyone a sort of golden glow. I think it looks better in general but especially with someone like Tae who has naturally tan skin.

That's interesting to know.

Btw I thought your comment on societal colorism interesting. What do you say about America preference for tan skin? Does this lightning look good on pale skin too?

Americans just has a thing with lighting in general! We prefer warm neutral or natural looking lighting.. Korea uses Flouresent lighting.. obviously to make it super bright and lighten skin etc. (which usually end up looking garbage)

A lot of America celebs have openly talk about their hate for fluorescent lighting! And yes Pale celebrities still look good.. instead of looking washed out!
