Do you feel comfortable about your stretchmarks? (If you have any...)

I used to be quite short when I was young but when I was around 13 I had a huge growth spurt over the summer and came back to school looking so much taller.

I also started to develop stretch marks around my knees because of how fast I grew, but I never really thought anything of it.

I think nowadays I've become a little insecure about them, especially after I gained weight so now I have stretchmarks in all different parts of my body.

I didn't really care for them while I was gaining weight but my mum and sister made a few remarks and there was a period where I was fixated on buying creams to get rid of my stretchmarks.

But I'm definitely not as obsessed anymore although I still feel uncomfortable at times..

I got stretch marks from hospital when I struggled to breathe. They inflated me with air like I was a balloon. Then when I was breathing normally they start to appear. So all my joints have them like shoulder, elbow, knee caps etc. I don't care.

I was really under weight in like my pre teens but like in freshman year I started gaining weight and while I didn’t actually gain that much weight it still resulted in stretch marks  I’m very self conscience I never wear bikinis  I’m always the one wearing regular shorts at the beach

Some years ago I lost a lot of weight quite fast due to a health problem, then gained it back , then lost it again and I got a lot of stretch marks. At first, I got really insecure about them and tried different creams to make them go away but they didn't really work. In the end, I stopped caring much and I don't pay attention to them anymore.

Yeah I have stretchmarks around my hips so I would never go near a bikini.

I like how my body looks now that I've gained weight, I'm not overweight but I don't want to gain or lose any more because I think my current weight just suits my face and proportions (I don't know if that makes sense lol)

The only downside to my weight gain is that the stretchmarks are so ugly that I don't feel comfortable exposing my skin.

They used to drive me crazy... I was starving myself thinking I had them cuz I’m fat... I was 52 kg .___.

Still don’t feel too good about them.

I used to hide them from my boyfriend, all thanks to him It doesn’t bother me as much.

i really dont care much. i have them everywhere, thighs, knees, back of my calves, hips, the most visible ones are on my back. some are light, some very deep lines, end of my back is all in dense lines. its there bcs i grew a lot

what made me not care much is the fact everybody has them in some form. they arent pretty but they also arent ugly, they are just there and part of me. there was just time i was scared they would stay purple like when they first appeared. i didnt want my back to be all in purple lines

Stretch marks are part of people (and especially female) anatomy, they appear when we gain weight, lose weight, grow up, etc, and actually most girls have some. They fade away with time, and depending on your skin they may even disappear completely, but even if they don't they won't make you less beautiful and attractive.

People with perfect bodies with dreamy shape, beautiful hair and skin with no pimples, stretch marks, cellulite, etc, who look amazing without makeup : are either extremely blessed bu nature (and still with a lot of taking care of their body) or photoshopped. The vast majority isn't perfect. Actually, even the most beautiful women on earth have their own problems : Naomi Campbell who's one of the top 3 supermodels in the world, has had hair loss problems for exemple.

What's most important is loving yourself, if you think you're beautiful, others will think so too.
