blank_stare 2,217
Recently there were some Arashians (some Int'l but most were Jfans) who were policing about Arashi's Grammys pics because of the privacy clause and anti media pictures of Arashi from Johnny's rules and regulations. There were Int'l fans who clapback and said that they were in public event and its a free for all. And I agree with this sentiments. Arashi were in a public event where there are people mingling around and taking pictures also. But then, there were airport pictures of Arashi popping up in twitter. Some fans get that the Korean was a coincidence, but the person deleted it off her SocMed after, I'm guessing JArashians complained. I respect most idols who likes their privacy. And most Japanese fans honor the rules of not taking pictures even when they coincidentally meet idol/artist members in public. Even Johnny Huang Jingyu told his fans not to follow him when he's at airports, when he's with his family or during private time. This stalker culture of idols and artists is disgusting imo. No one has self control and respect for other's privacies? But what's your take on this?

blank_stare 2,217
I'm more distributed by fans and media adhering to a corporations "rules and regulations" Distributed? In corporation world it helps to keep the money flowing into their pocket. That's obvious. But with idols and artists, it also helps them from getting scandals and what not. It ALSO keeps their privacy private. Most people don't want cameras in their faces and their pictures taken.
Poetry 1,220
Airports should have a red carpet-like section for fans to take pictures. Keep that behavior out of the rest of the airport. My friend was returning from Asia when NCT flew into LAX one time and it was a mad house.

Yes, distributing that a private entity can demand people follow their own law and order. There's no expectations for privacy in an airport. Fans should behave but snapping a picture from a respectful distance is fine.

I'm still at lost with your use of distributing. As for privacy in an airport. You are going to be in an enclosed space and there are going to be classes such as economy and business and first class. Its expected to not take any pictures when you are in a VIP setting. Arashi most likely had gotten a First Class or Business class tickets. And they were in the First Class sitting area. That warrants a lot of things. Also take it as they are just regular people going about their day. They're taking a flight to get back to their work across the seas. Would you like it if people took pictures of you?

Wouldn't be distributing if Disney said "no bad reviews" or oil companies said "no bad information" and people... listened to them? A media company making people think they can control when people take pictures in public is distributing. You can take pictures of normal people in public, just going about their day. A fan taking a picture doesn't make them a stalker, it might be rude but it's part of becoming famous.

I wouldn't use that term, more like implement since Johnny's and most fans honor the no pictures when it comes to their groups. This goes for most Japanese celebrities, idols, etc. actually, as Jfans typically don't take pictures except for some stalker fans and paparazzi. Yes you can take normal pictures of people in public, emphasis on people. The people who take pictures of other people don't have multiple pictures of the same people though. That's the problem. kissxkiss_baby 5,756
The privacy for celebrities is hard when the Asian entertainment industry has cultivated such obsessive fandom behaviour. The company’s encourage these stalker tendencies by posting artists scedules, paying for fan service text messages, handshake events, packages that allow you to sit next to your idol on the plane etc. This behaviour literally can’t apply to international fans the same way it does to domestic fans because they have much more access to idols. If I see an idol at the CN Tower for example I’m going to take a picture Idc what anyone says for me it’s a once and a lifetime opportunity. There is a such difference between me taking that picture in-comparison to a stalker fan or even a fan site master who follows an idol 24/7, breaks into their house, calls their private number, harasses their families taking pics along the ways. THOSE are the fans these people should be worried about not some fan who took a picture in the airport on the rare chance they spot their fav. They didn't even allow online pictures until last year Being filmed or photographed in public is just a risk we all take these days.
