in Jang jayeon's case, some action was taken about the sexual harassment in Korean entertainment industry only after she committed suicide.

in the president's and pm's corruption's case, something was done only after the businessman committed suicide.

these are just two examples, and only from Korea. but i have seen this pattern in the world. when bad and wrong things are happening, they are hidden and ignored. people start paying attention and justice starts being served only after someone dies, when it is too late, at least for that person. sigh.

and if the victims are alive, no matter how much they have suffered or are suffering, the crime continues or the culprits are never punished.

why is is that it only starts to matter after someone kills themselves or is killed?

I think the only reason they take moral responsbility after someone dies is because of guilt and public outrage, not because they care. Although that's not for all cases.

Humans are selfish and won’t do anything unless it’ll affect them too.

I think the only reason as to why they’re doing something after their deaths is to protect their reputation or else the public will be angry at them. They’re only doing the right thing for publicity but they would never tried to do the right thing if these kind of things aren’t made public. But we all know that these things will never stop.

People need to be shocked by something in order to wake up (but usually we'll go back to sleep right after)

things don't really change. people will be shocked for a while, protest for a change, then everything will be forgotten and the old routine will start again.

human being have demonstrate for centuries that they like to make the same mistakes over and over and over and over again, cause everyone is so focused on themselves and on their personal gain that they never see or are interested in what happens to others and on how their actions affect others.

This board is the wrong place for this thread. It should be in Random's board.

Don't be so nihilistic, OP. It usually doesn't change even after someone dies.

Because people who get to the top have done so by stepping on others, there's no other way. And if you're that kind of a person anyway, you're probably not going to take the moral highground/care about those under you.
