Doesnt bts represent the "american dream"?

+ they're very hands-on with their music and they have creative control. They produce their own stuff, they have a say in the concepts, choreos, etc.

All these break the stereotypes of Americans who used to be very close-minded with how 'manufactured' they deemed Kpop to be.

BTS’s success is incredible .. they went above and beyond and set a new standard for the KPOP industry as a whole .. they’ve already reached legendary status .. especially considering that they haven’t even been trying to appeal to the western audience like releasing English music and abandoning Korea .. all of that is even more impressive considering they’re not a big 3 group

My exact thoughts! Thats why I am glad it's them that's becoming the face of Kpop to the world. All biases aside-there is no one who can claim to be artists that take their craft seriously be it writing, composing, dancing, singing, rapping; and also not afraid to show the humane side to them, their flaws and imperfections plus also serve looks and attitude at the same time. Theirs is a story we will tell for long even after they are no longer on the top...

You know stanning them since they were called 'nugu' here and there, i just.. sometimes i still can't process how much Successful they are now, my simple wishes was i hope their music will be recognized and appreaciated on a large scale, heard by many people, that even south korea can't help but appreciate them because that's how much i approved their music, how much i want other people to feel what i feel when discovering their music .. and like it's all happening one by one and i'm witnessing.

things like this just happen once in a lifetime.

BTS' whole rise to the top is basically all the ingredients of a Disney movie. They are K-pop's Cinderfellas.

Cinderella has Fairy Godmother. BTS have themselves

BTS Fairy Godmother are ARMYs who went above and beyond for them. They are to BTS in the West what Cassies were to TVXQ in Japan. But ARMYs wouldn't be there for them if they didn't deserve it or put the work in to get there.

The analogy isn't that direct. "Cinderella story" isn't a term that refers to someone being given fortune, it simply refers to an underdog or an unknown who rose out of obscurity to achieve far greater success than anyone could have expected. And that fits BTS perfectly.

Yeah but Cinderella is the daughter of a Rich man, she was never an underdog to begin with.

Even if she was the daughter of a Rich man, he died and she ended up being horribly mistreated by her stepmother. She was basically a servant in her own household and did not get to enjoy any of the benefits of her father's wealth. Even living with a poor family who loved her would've been a better circumstance than the one she ended up in.

yeah but I was just using the analogy of being underdogs from the start and rising to the top cause that's not exactly the life story of Cinderella. She was just abused and all her rights was taken away from her.

Yes, I was comparing that to BTS being mistreated and dismissed by the Korean entertainment industry.
