How do local patrons react, when a gay couple shows affection at a restaurant in Vicksburg?

I don't really like seeing PDA between any type of couple, whether they're gay or straight or whatever. I think a little caress here and there or holding hands is natural, but anything beyond that is a fully conscious action and therefore can be spared for a more private circumstance. I don't even like to be overly affectionate in public because the only person I care to share it with is the person I'm romantically involved with.

As for what I would do, probably nothing. If it were a heterosexual couple and they'd been going at it for a while, I'd probably make some snide comment within earshot. I haven't encountered a gay couple doing the same thing so I can't say that I'd do the same because people are quick to call you a homophobe.

I would've called her out.  I don't think that anyone where I live would care though, except my mom.  She's hardcore southern, and points out gay people all the time like they're aliens.

The thing I hate the most is that people who don't accept it say "You do what you want to do" like they actually mean it.  There's just so much hatred in this video......

Nice comment. Too much Kissing in restaurants should always be spared, but the girls at the end of the video...that was just being disrespectful and nothing more.

Wow this made me pretty pissed actually. I don't mind two people sharing their love in public, if I don't want to watch it I can turn my eyes away.

I wouldn't be able to stay quiet in a situation like this.

God these people. If the bible told them to jump off a cliff, would they do it? Sometimes it's best to just make up your own mind and not follow the mass (Or in this case an ancient book).

----
(Those girls who were laughing and "thumbing up" that women actress needs to re-evaluate their lives and invest in better weaves). While I agree that public display of affection can be gross... I think every couple has a right to display their love for one another as they see fit to a degree.

I mean.. the two were just pecking... nothing more. And those people who say "Even if it were a heterosexual couple kissing, I wouldn't feel comfortable". While some may be telling the truth, I bet some are just trying to cover up their blatant dislike for homosexuals. It's disgusting really, I bet half those people who laughed, stared or spoke up wouldn't do the same for heterosexual couples.

That line:

Usually /they're/ not that open in public.

"They're". We're not animals.

Yeah, that was schoolgirl rat behavior, giggling and ganging up on people.

Also looks like a rat could be hiding in their hair.

True. I just don't like PDA.

Their PDA was kind of excessive tbh, but  :rlytearpls: at those guys who stuck up for them anyway

The sad thing is I'm pretty sure many of them would do it, if they thought it'd get them into heaven. Religion is a powerful drug.

I would just turn my head, the same that I would have done with heterosexual couple. All public kissing ect is gross.

This. The most I would ever do is a peck on the cheek or holding hands/arms. I'm not a very PDA type of person and I would hope other people would respect that of other people. It just makes things awkward and uncomfortable when you see people playing tonsil hockey with each other, no matter the orientation.

"Because people don't go to a restaurant to watch people make out"

3:00 in the video perfectly sums up everything.

TV shows are hungry for viewer ratings; the directors ain't gonna go to NYC for example cos people are probably gonna ignore whatever the couple is doing, or at least react the same way they would to both hetero and homo couples. I always think shows like this are exaggerated and don't reflect the general public's view
