Proof on why BTS paved the way:

"They really PAVED THE WAY for us & other Kpop acts. They made way for us to participate in the US music industry. They achieved lots of amazing things that we never expected before..I don't know if we'd be able to do the things we‘re doing right now without themâ€
- Monsta X

“Sunbaes have PAVED THE WAY really well...I feel that BTS has created a genre of their very own†
- KARD

"We K-pop artists are really proud of BTS, we know how hard it is to make it in the industry. They've opened doors & CLEARED THE WAY, it's a huge hope for us.â€
- Ailee

"We got a lot of attention only because of our
sunbae-nims who PAVED THE WAY for K-pop. We will strive to become artists who Korea can be proud of."
- Loona

"For more singers to come, what BTS did will be HISTORY REMEMBERED 100-200 yrs later."
- Section TV

Rain denies having PAVED THE WAY for BTS and Psy in the U.S market and says it all through their HARD WORK.

- Rain

BTS PAVE THE WAY for K-pop golden age in the US, achieving what Psy and the Wonder Girls FAILED TO ACCOMPLISH.

BTS PAVED THE WAY

As much as I love them, I've always had mixed feelings regarding this statement.

Their US fan base is nowadays pretty big and they're getting nice exposure thanks to that but paved the way for what ? No K-pop act is truly successful there (local music market wise), not even BTS that got close to no longevity with their songs in the US Hot 100 chart (Spotify is on another level though since it's on a more worldwide scale). K-pop was already pretty much popular in the west before BTS hit big, and many groups have/had pretty strong fanbases with a lot of media exposure, tours etc.

I think it's amazing to see them being able to perform on local US TV etc, but let's be realistic, they'll never make it into the GP heart and people should be more humble about this. Day by day, internet power is getting bigger, so will K-pop acts and their fanbase.

Nah, lol

Before BTS hitting big people only knew about PSY and that was it

Kpop wasn't popular at all, it was very niche (still is, but to a less extent and at least nowadays there are high chances of non kpop fans knowing BTS)

And I doubt any other group ever had a western tour as big as BTS did, selling out arenas and stadiums.

keep repeating it to yourself.

"kpop was already pretty much popular" it was nowhere close to how it is now and social media existed and was popular already, idk why 2nd gen stans need to act like 2nd gen happened in last century

Anticipate BTS on Grammys.

Kpop was popular in west, but magnitude of that popularity magnified by 30times when BTS started to grow, till now... people nowadays know that something like Kpop exists where a talented bg who dances & performs very well is there named BTS.

US media and GP got to know about kpop through BTS. Of course kpop was known before BTS too but only within kpop community or through PSY (and was thought that it was a funny genre)

LOTS of people got to know other kpop acts too after BTS. And not only GP, US media saw what kind of powerful fandoms can a kpop act have so they give them more possibilities and chance to promote there. Before BTS no one gave a chance to kpop

You just can't deny these facts. And this is what other people AND idols themselves are aknowledging

Yes.

Your faves charting on Social 50 thanks to my oppars

Your faves getting those opportunities in the US thanks to my oppars

Your faves touring in the US thanks to my oppars

Your faves dream on charting on Billboard because of my oppars

Western media giving so much attention to Kpop thanks to my oppars

Your darling companies would not ever dare to cross in the US If not BTS successful crossover

Good times when BTS and ARMYs were mocked for seeking "Western Validation", now you all want piece of it, not only you but your faves and their companies too. Now everyone pays attention to US sales, certifications, charting... everyone makes projects to make their faves chart on it and everyone begs to get their faves on US radios. That's the reality we have now thanks to BTS and irrelevant Social Artist Award uwu.

BTS opened that damned door and now your faves are benefiting from it. If this is not the paving the way, then what is it?

Stay mad over facts tho.
