I do because most of the times I don't have that much cash around so if a cashier refuses my ripped bill then I'll have to ask them to cancel the purchase. but tbh I get nervous even when I'm paying with a card because what if there is no money even if I just checked out 2 minutes ago

I usually try to get rid of it as soon as I can. I once got a really badly ripped note from self check out (I seriously don't know how Australian notes even get ripped tbh). It got rejected when I tried to spend it so I just went back to the supermarket to explain that I was given the note from self check out. They just gave me another note that wasn't ripped LOL.
