ARMYs, how would you feel if TXT were to be promoted through any of BTS’ content?

IF they were to be. Hypothetically. Whether by BigHit, or by BTS themselves.

 

Ever since the BHNBG was officially announced, one of the main comments that I’ve seen constantly reiterated is that this new group should be appraised solely for their own merits and not for being BTS’ juniors. That they should stand on their own feet, without riding on Bangtan’s coattails. (This is well-intended but futile in some ways tbh...it’s only natural they’re going to have the BTS name attached to and associated with them for a while, it’s inevitable at least in this pre-debut stage.)

 

But it’s undeniable how much it would benefit TXT (even further than the BTS/BH association alone) for them to appear in any of BTS’ content, introduced to millions of followers/subscribers in person, for their individual personalities to be conveyed instead of just the descriptor “BTS’ brother groupâ€. Especially considering the younger ARMYs who are to be TXT’s target demographic in terms of age. There are so many ARMYs who won’t bother checking them out but could be persuaded, likewise there are so many who probably haven’t kept up and don’t even know about TXT but could be introduced to them. And I know most of TXT’s pre-debut fandom is already ARMY to begin with, but it’s obviously only a small subset of ARMYs and can definitely grow bigger if the TXT members were properly promoted.

 

So what do you think? Would you be opposed to it, not mind it, or welcome it? Would it annoy or offend you, to be following BTS for BTS but forced to pay attention to something TXT-related? Would you view it negatively as TXT being pushed onto ARMYs because of BTS’ popularity?

 

Personally I’d welcome it wholeheartedly, depending on the time and place and as long as it’s not contrived or overdone. As it is I’m dying to see any BTS x TXT interactions...Jin requesting us to watch over them once in a while without BH asking him to was heartwarming, what Hobi said in his VLive, and even them just following each other on Twitter was so adorable lol. All those scenarios ARMYs are thinking of with TXT being BTS’ hoobaes at award shows and stuff, I’d love to see those too. I would love it if they tweeted about or to TXT, posted pics together, if their relationship dynamic allows that is. I mean maybe they’re not so close, maybe only some members are, or maybe they haven’t really gotten the chance to interact with each other over the years as much as we want to think, that’s fine too. Although I’m not expecting them to, I would hate it if BigHit promoted them somehow and it looked out of place. A few people have suggested TXT be in a Run episode with BTS, play games or do missions together, and I realized I would definitely welcome something like that! But again, only if their sunbae-hoobae relationship isn’t forced and if it’s something the BTS members want as well. I also feel like as long as it’s through unpaid content, they could get away with it just fine, but if it’s paid for, ARMYs who aren’t bothered about getting to know TXT might complain.

Besides Jin giving them a shout out at SMA, I think BigHit approach so far is not to be like SM, YG or JYP were the senior groups promoted the younger group.

 

If they actually stick to that, I think even casual ARMY might like that TxT is their own group and will have their own identity.

bts were involved in a few glam activities, such as song writing and being backup dancers. So I think it's expected that txt will have involvement with bts, at some point. We already saw a couple being V's dancers. Just as long as it isn't an overkill

Txt teasers so far proved that bh planned for a different concept and group with different team and strategy very seriously and thoroughly

While preparing for the new group, Armys got gift songs, run episodes, bombs, webtoon, an upcoming book. We've been fed!

 

Based on this, I am seeing wise management. Neither bts is neglected not txt is introduced as a second version of bts. Even the fact that txt got high quality teasers and no rushed cb shows that bh doesn't only rely on bts image. They are serious

So, I am totally happy and not worried at all. Even if txt gets promoted through bts content then BH is using Armys without hurting bts. I don't see any problem

How would they even force someone? lmao if people don't like the content they can skip. only dumb asses listen/watch things they don't like and complain about it when they could avoid it. 

 

 

To answer your question, I don't really care. BTS used to do it with Homme and I didn't mind it.  I actually became a fan lol  and it wasn't in your face type (endless promoting) but just here and there. It's not like BTS is gonna wear TXT merchandise and sing to their songs every chance they get. BTS recommend things all the time so it would kind of be like that for me :d

If it was in free content such as a Bangtan Bomb I'd be fine with it, however, if they were to  make extended appearances in BTS' paid content such as V Live+ and their DVD/Photobook merchandise or a concert appearance, I'll admit that I'd be pissed as I pay for BTS content, not TXT content.

It depends. What content are we talking about here? Song featuring? I'm fine with it, Opening act at a concert? I'm still open. But if something like they suddenly showed up on their festa party as a guest, or randomly showed up on their exclusive content, I'll def side-eyeing big hit.

I think as long as it's not so in your face and forced (like you said) the majority of the fandom wont mind. The run bts thing is actually a good idea or if bh decided to create a similar show for txt bts could feature on one of the earlier episodes which will help it get attention and army's can't really moan since technically it would be txt's show. 

 

What I think most people will be annoyed by is if txt don't perform as well as bh hopes/expects and then they start aggressively linking the two groups to help them gain traction (e.g. only posting bts content that mentions txt/links them, using festas to promote txt, only selling bts content as a 2 for 1 deal with txt's stuff, etc) to the point where it's affecting bts negatively. I doubt that'll happen though, since bh seem to be working on establishing txt's own identity/fandom.

LOL Way to try and put words in my mouth. You might as well say it yourself, army’s ARE annoying, youre just lying to yourself if you think they are all sweet little angels who will welcome a new group with open arms. If BH or txts fans start trying to use BTS content for exposure for the new group and army start getting angry or salty (like you sound right now when faced with the truth) then y’all will be hypocrites.
