but nobody watches them on tv anyway, didn't all the popular ones air online only or online first?

 

 

Yanxi Palace and Legend of Ming Lan are the biggest C-dramas recently, both have palace scheming of some sort

Why though? Like come on.

I've seen quite a few palace scheming dramas and tbh most of them are pretty much the same. It's fun to watch once in a while but they're not that good imo. Yanxi Palace was really good but Empresses in the Palace was okay but both are/were super popular.

That sucks. I enjoy palace dramas for all the scheming and shenanigans to gain the Emperor's favor and power within the harem.
