midnightpanda 285
Who else has trouble with sleeping? This is my crazy sleeping cycle during the academic year. Even now, during the summer, I am still having trouble with sleep. I pulled all nighters 5 out of 7 nights. Eeekkk. Maybe I should buy sleeping aromas? Pills make it worse for me. Good People 2,455
Make a schedule and stick to it no matter what. The only way to change your sleep patterns is to force yourself. For example, if you normally sleep all day and stay up all night, the only way to change it is: force yourself to stay up all day, and then you will be exhausted and sleep by night. If you take too many naps during the day, force yourself to stay awake all day to change your bad sleeping habits.
Gloupsidou 2,047
Chronic insomnia is a pain in the ass when you are trying to live with a normal routine... Try meditation, go to bed at the same time every night even if you don't fall asleep instantly, read a book before bed, stop using your computer/laptop/cellphone/ipad at least one hour before you go to bed...force yourself to go to bed and to wake up at the same time everyday

midnightpanda 285
Woah is that your actual sleep pattern? Yes, unfortunately. Oooh what app is that SleepBot Make a schedule and stick to it no matter what. The only way to change your sleep patterns is to force yourself. For example, if you normally sleep all day and stay up all night, the only way to change it is: force yourself to stay up all day, and then you will be exhausted and sleep by night. To give an OH example, if I found a 20 pages thread 1 hour before my supposed sleep time, I would actually read everything and finish that thread before I can feel comfortable going to sleep, which would of course be like 5 or 6 am. I have witness so many sun risings man. I think it's because of my innate desire to avoid leaving things in the middle. I hate that unfinished feeling you know? Noli 1,189
I'm currently suffering from Insomnia at the moment, so sleeping for two or three hours is something I can relate to. I'm going to try drinking chamomile tea this week and see if that helps, because nothing else has... even if I turn off everything in my room, my mind alone will start racing. beginning 1,394
SleepBot Yeah, I think I lack discipline. Like if I found a 20 pages thread 1 hour before my supposed sleep time, I would actually read everything and finish that thread before I can feel comfortable going to sleep, which would of course be like 4 or 5 am. I have witness so many sun risings man. I think it's because of my innate desire to avoid leaving things in the middle. I hate that unfinished feeling you know? I am really trying hard to change because I am a student! And students have to follow the 9-5 schedule unfortunately. Thanks I think it will help if you turn off everything. I have really bad insomia but these days I'm really exhausted of myself so I try to give in to sleep whenever it's time and to resist sleep whenever it's not. I used to like sleep 12 hours a day but it doesn't help so lately I try to wake up earlier so I'll be more exhausted when sleeping time comes And also, I go through funny pages like 9gag and buzzfeed. It takes my mind off the serious things and just relax my mind and exhaust it as well so after reading for like 30-60 minutes I'll be really tired and just fall asleep
EunMinYeon 545
Tension Tamer tea girl. During exam season when I was actually sleeping I was having an hour or two max. Mum bought me this tea and it proper calmed me down. If you're like this pretty much all the time i'd see a doctor and get something for it. My lack of sleep has completely ruined my chances of going to Uni and i'm now having to retake a year.

iv7 307
I have insomnia so when I wake up in the night, I just light a candle, listen to some music, make a cocktail or drink warm milk and try to go back to sleep after 1-2 hours. I never take naps though.
midnightpanda 285
Thanks guys, these tips help a lot. I am just glad some people listened to my story I was kind of alone in this sleeping struggle.
fufu 580
Do you do much exercise? That's usually the best way to get tired. I have sleeping trouble, but that's due to a neck injury and being unable to sleep in a warm room - which my room is very much. Sometimes I just have to wait for hours until I just can't physically stay awake any longer.
