Vote up - They earn money and can put food on the table because of the fans' love, so they can't date

Vote down - Idols can't even date during the prettiest years of their lives, it's a sad thing

To be honest, I'm also someone who fangirls on idols so when their dating news break out, I can understand their rationale but I still feel a bit sad. But at the same time, my bias is a celebrity whose ultimate goal is to be an artist so I don't think that you should use the "he's feeding off fan's love" as a logic. Of course, there are idols whose goal is to receive love and attention from the the public but I don't think that they can get up there with this kind of mentality.

ㅇㅇ |2019.01.26 20:07 ì‹ ê³ í•˜ê¸° We spend on idols because of their skills, stages and charisma no? do you guys have to take ownership over these idols' personal lives too? If they are good at doing their job and treat the fans nicely, and that they cement their position as a celebrity after 4-5 years and then start dating, of course that would be the ideal case. And it's also good for your to love your bias but please don't think that you have ownership over them. Off stage, they are their own person and also have a family, siblings and friends. They might also have boyfriends and girlfriends just like the rest of us. It's not like idols are taking the fans' money with nothing in exchange. So please fangirl with restraint and don't take ownership over them. Let's all share

ㅇㅇ |2019.01.26 14:53 ì‹ ê³ í•˜ê¸° I seriously think that if people want to be celebrities, they have to give up on dating life. Especially idols who live off the fans' love. If you learned that your bias was dating, you won't be able to fangirl on him

ㅇㅇ |2019.01.26 19:29 ì‹ ê³ í•˜ê¸° The way you love your dog, the way you love your partner, the way you love your friends, the way you love your family, they are all different. So the way fans love their bias should also be different from loving a boyfriend/girlfriend. How are they the same? Also, if you think that you would spend that much money on your lover, they I think that you should stop spending on your bias... Honestly speaking, the kids who spend that much money on their real life partners and who end up breaking up after would also think that all of it was just a waste of money

If the person commenting this is over 18 you have some serious issues

I don't understand ppl who get mad when their biases date.... I mean if you really loved them then you'd root for their happiness. Idols would also love fans even more if they see them being respectful and nice when their relationship is revealed.

I really hope fandoms' mentality towards dating in Kpop changes.

every job comes with responsibilities and sacrifices

I definitely agree that "banning" idols from dating is a bit extreme (although I don't think they're not allowed to date, more like they're recommended not to) but at the same time if you're going to be an idol (a profession which relies a lot on fan-service), you can't really expect some fans to be cool with you dating

personally, I don't care either way but fans getting angry/disappointed over their faves' dating will always be a thing as long as fan-service is still utilised in K-POP

Anyone who has an issue with idols dating seriously needs to examine their priorities. It is absurd that they have to date in secret, and are treated like criminals when they get found out. Their personal life is their business, not ours.

I don’t think idols should date. As we’ve seen with Jennie, when they start dating they care less and less about the group they’re in until until they just don’t even try anymore.

Of course, they should be able to date.

However I wish people like Dispatch wouldn't reveal them if the idols do not want to go public. Idol couples don't sudden'y start doing whatever in public when everyone know. Nope, instead they hide even more. All the pressure and stress may cause tension in the relationship. And often times lead to the couple breaking up.

LMAOOO I'm sorry but since when has Jennie ever said she did not care about Blackpink?

She's expressed her dedication to the group on numerous occasions so don't spread some bullshit narrative to justify why idols shouldn't date.

It's the industry's fault and this problem won't be solved unless the industry witnesses tremendous and total changes.

Idols are stereotyped as entertainers, manufactured toys that get replaced once they reach "the expiration date"

Companies "nurture" the fandom culture by the large and diverse fandom content

Idols are not  even considered real artists but just mere objects . Heck many people question idols' age before deciding to stan or even be a fan as if they are going to date them which is sad.

Why many people get surprised when thee see old people attending concerts of idols or  male fans attending concerts of male idols etc? The industry has cemented the fact that fans are not there for music , they are just there to fangirl or fanboy

so, as a result of all these obstacles, how can fans consider idols are real human beings who have the right to date and live a normal live?

Let's push them to consider idols real artists first and then they will eventually be considered real humans and not objects. It's a long, if not impossible, road to take
