Official YG Magnum [OT6 - Treasure13] Thread

The upside is the vocal line and dance line and rap lines combine, I want OT13 TV more than anything, and I'll get Mashikyu on the same stage, Ha-ha rapline, Haruto with his J-hyungs and more interactions between the two groups which makes me really happy.

 

I would rather have separate TV for each of the groups, with 13 people on one show the screentime would be limited and it would be hard to get to know the members of each 6 and 7 member group.

very worrisome... Teddy? yg's obsession with him is killing me. 

 

He's a genuine hit maker, but he can't even produce enough songs for blackpink, I don't want YGE to rely on him for these groups :\

I just feel that the fandom name and OT13 name makes Magnum feel, idk, left out in a sense? (didn't get their own Magnum poster thing too uwu).

 

 

I get the same feel, like they are the extras? I don't know... really feel like ot7 should change their name

BP already struggling with getting a full album worth of music 3 years into their debut and now they putting him on this hybrid 3 group project? I mean... good lord will the groups be releasing an album every half a decade? 

 

I just saw that Teddy won't be their sole producer so they should be okay

One of the translations says we'll meet all of them on the 13th. Not sure how accurate.

 

 

I guess I have a different approach. I like OT6 being distinct and different. Casual and non-fans won't confuse them ("which group is this one").

We won't fall into the trap of NCT, NCT U, NCT 127, NCT Dream.

 

If anything it's unfair to the Treasure team. When you go searching for "Treasure" you'll get OT13 stuff.

Treasure should have been the overall name and the 1st team should have been called something else.

 

It just feels weird that ot7 and ot13 names as so closely related and with the fanclub being named treasure maker it makes magnum feel left out. I'm actually really happy that their name isn't "TreasureJ" or something like that... i just think YG should rethink OT7 and make them something unique and distinguishable.

The predebut show is probably going to be OT13 since it is called Open The Treasure Box. Do you want a separate thread?

 

you can make a thread in the variety forum that is solely for the show though, since some casual or non fans may want to watch/comment but don't want to do it in the official group thread.

Do you know how NCT competed? It will probably be similar to however they did it their rookie year

It could be per but Jihoon is older for a year, so I can see that the position is tilted towards him and Mashiho would be the mediator, I think that in the end everything is derived in who can establish a more fluid communication in the team, as the situation that arose between Jyunjao and Jihoon in the show.

 

YG never considers age when choosing a leader, so that's not an advantage Jihoon has over Mashiho.

Interesting, as I said I do not know much about groups YG u_u, in any case that prioritizes YG to choose the position of leader? Is it chosen by the group or is it given by the company ?

 

yeah, CL was leader of 2NE1 and she was about 8 years younger than the oldest members. 

 

Generally YG will pick the person with the most talent and leadership qualities, tends to produce songs. With iKON YG never choose B.I as leader, it's just a position he gradually grew into while they were trainees since he would lead the practices and help other members. But I think that only worked because their lineup never changed, they just added new people and all the members looked to him for leadership. Other trainee groups would lose members as new ones were added. I don't know if YG will let Treasure13/Magnum/Treasure pick their own leader or will assign them based on who he thinks fits the roles best

 

It's really important that they select the best leader for the group since with YG groups being the leader isn't just a title, it's going to be the person that leads the group, helps those members that fall behind, and who actively fights for their group to get better promotions.

 

edit: small disclaimer... I don't follow every YG group though, so this may not be true for the groups I don't know
