If have the members are JP, it makes me worried that YGE will have them spend too much time in JP and ignore Korean fans/promotions 

 

Also feel like Jihoon and Yeongue are needed in the group so I don't know how I would feel if Asahi is in instead.

Yes, I can accept the fact that they can debut in Japan later, but only after them debuting in Korea, having 1-2 come backs in Korea each year and just stay in Japan for tour concert like other Kpop groups. But if they only activate in Japan, I'm afraid about their future. I remember the period when WINNER and iKON fully stayed in Korea after debut period, then I won't hear any info about them at all and a lot of fans lost interest and left them, that was the truth. 

 

How do you remember this when iKON was sent to Japan 10 days after their debut

YG groups rarely promote at the same time anyways so... doubt these two will ever promote at the same time. 

 

I also strongly believe this group will debut next year, not this year. 

They'll be considered brother groups, something yg has wanted for a while.

 

hmm, it's not unheard of for YG, so I don't think promoting at the same time is what is stopping them. If there are two completely separate groups then YG will probably debut them in separate years, but if there are going to be considered two units of one group they'll debut close together

Can you elaborate on this? I've seen others mention it before but don't get what exactly you all mean by brother groups. 

 

It has been supposed for years that YG intended WIN to launch both WINNER and iKON with the fandoms being overlapping, and subunits (like MOBB) would be born from it, but the fandoms hate one another so it wouldn't work

 

with Treasure and this group, YG has split the popular "teams" between both groups so the fandoms are overlapping and will likely support both groups and units that come from it.

I'm okay with not having a guessing game, it's more exciting to find out when yg reveals it

I could actually see this happening and I don't think fans would be as opposed to it since now both groups basically share the same fandom and would definitely be more willing to embrace it as opposed to ics and ikonics.

 

YG talked a lot about how people complain about the lack of songs and promotions so I have a feeling they're gonna try to change the way they go about doing things starting with these 2 groups. It's gonna be interesting to see how they manage them. 

 

 

yeah, I agree the situation is completely different from WIN because there were never locked teams competing and members were teamed up in a variety of ways.

 

imo, yg has a lot of producers so as long as yge isn't hung up on making them self producing from the start and has producing teams set up for them (such as future bounce) it shouldn't be too hard for them to have regular releases.

I actually wish we have it because people come up with some funny and random stuff. Plus time flies faster.

 

when we find out to so early, I just don't feel much excitement when the reveal poster is revealed since we already know what's coming.

It surprise me people want the last one to be yeongue, i never consider him because he's kinda still looks like a kid, like junhyuk, so its different with let's say haruto, junghwan, jeongwoo. But he do has nice voice

 

tbh, most of the Treasure Box trainees seemed like kids to me lol

 

I think Yeongue is the best fit for main vocal so I'm hoping for him, I won't be mad if someone else gets in though... the lineup is already so solid.

So apparently, Byeonggon was suppose to be in the original lineup. However because Seunghun didn’t make it, he didn’t want to debut without him. So he left. Wonder if that truly was the case. If so, I hope they successfully debut together.

 

I don't believe this, fellow trainees come and go it's ridiculous to throw away your own chance to debut because one person isn't going to make it with you.

I hope  YGEX has a good plan in place for their promotions there and doesn't just releases the money grabs they do for the current groups. 

 

Please give me pointers on how to support Japanese releases, please. Where to buy albums and merch. Oricon support, streaming and such.

And I need full MVs, not the 1 minute MVs that get shown for Japan releases. How to get that too.

Oricon only counts sales bought in stores or shipped to JP addresses so there isn't much support I-fans can do there. You can download from JP itunes but you have to buy a jp itunes gift card and change your country to jp to do so.

Are there Japanese third party companies that bulk buy physical albums, and ship them internationally? Would that overcome the system?

 

yeah, I can't remember any of the names but the JP stores ship to them and then they shp to you. I looked into it once and discarded it since the fee was a bit much on top of the high prices of the album. YGEX usually releases several versions of an album (member ver/cd ver/cd+dvd ver/cd+bluray ver) so you could get one of the cheaper album versions but the content on the dvd version makes it a more attractive buy.

YG needs to release a clear statement on the status of the groups, it's frustrating trying to interpret the vague wording they've provided so far.
