GRISHA - A Yoonbin Stan

Recommended Posts

God I should have chosen a Korean bias at least you guys know they can be snatched up by other companies and have a chance to make it. Being a Mashiho stan my concern and pain is multiplied by infinity since there is no evidence of a possible jpop group and I still have no flying idea if Korean companies have ever tried to take in foreign trainees from the big3.

Anyway, praying for a miracle at this point. I'll support Mashi even if he goes indie and releases nothing but coffee shop songs.

personally... it feels like an open ended ending.. I want closure but I don't think I'll ever get it? I personally was very picky about stanning this group... when I started watching, I was just watching for fun like I did the pd101 shows.. but then I grew seriously invested in some members and started toying around with the idea of potentially following and in the future stanning another group along with iKON if the lineup is majority what I want... I had such high hopes by the 6th reveal.. I was willing to compromise for jaehyuk... as long as 7th was yoonbin but the announcement crushed it all... and we won't ever hear why.. why did they debut this person instead of that... why didn't yg listen to the audience... and I realized... this is literally my every day struggle with YG's decisions related to iKON... so I believe this is it.. it's 7 members, those exact 7.. they WILL debut despite all the unfortunate revolting and hate... we will never know why Mashiho wasn't in the lineup... we'll never truly know if ANY of the trainees had a fair shot tbh.. and that's just the typical YG way. I'm mad at myself for thinking YG is finally progressing and finally listening to the audience... but.. he didn't. I personally worry for the group itself.. seems like YG is reverting back to his old ways.. I expect them touring in Japan within the first 6 months... million sellers? I might have had hope for something, maybe not a million, but now? YG will be the obstacle that'll keep them from flourishing like he did to his boy groups.

Sorry for the rant but... I hate not getting closure and I'm still frustrated about how the whole show was handled and how anticlimactic and open ended it was.

I have to wonder if YG is even aware of how big Mashiho and Yoonbin were and are still becoming or if he even has staff that reports such things to him because how do you let go of 2 people with that much potential and guaranteed to bring along large fandoms. Isn't he obsessed with global popularity or is that just a myth? As someone who works in business I just don't get it.

Anyway, Mashiho's j-fans want him out of YG. They're disappointed and frustrated with the way he's been treated and want him to transfer. I've seen mentions of SM, JYP, CUBE, Pledis and Starship but CUBE and SM seem to be the most popular options due to NCT Japan and the possibility of debuting with Guanlin and Seonho. I hope Mashi reads their suggestions, smarts up, packs his bags and gives it another shot somewhere else. It's clear YG is still a mess and he'll only waste more of his youth staying there.

I also agree that Yoonbin seems the rational type and I don't and can't see him staying in YG. He'll definitely be looking for another company. To me he has the potential to be a rapper even if it's not by going the idol route so I don't think all hope is lost.

It's funny, but from what I've seen the only people who think the lineup is perfect are hardcore yg stans lol, which means everything he said about doing something different and branching out hasn't really worked since your core fandom remains the same. A lot of my mutuals from other fandoms who had been looking forward to stanning their first yg group ended up jumping ship and while I'm sure the group will do fine since it's yg, I don't see them outperforming txt.

He's obviously gunning for the Korean fandom which doesn't make sense when he already has Junkyu and Haruto. He really lost it with this one. Does he seriously think they're gonna have the international relevance BP do when there isn't a single english speaker and he refuses to put in a foreign trainee with huge international relevance like Lisa?

Just... nobody can explain.

This. I don't think I'm ever gonna forget his huge smile when he found out he won and the desperation and hopelessness in his eyes when YG did not call out his name in the end, nor him bowing for longer than everyone else after it was all done. He probably thought he could have done more and worked harder when in reality there is nothing more he could have done. And the nerve of the editors to show all the highlights they cut of his performance in the live introducing the final members. Bless Hyunsuk for giving him a shoutout and Junkyu for saying he missed him when YG sabotaged him and even deleted mentions of him from his ig. I know he wanted to make it in YG, but he can do SO much better and I'm hoping and praying we get news in the upcoming weeks of him transferring to another company.

Rant.

I'm kinda disappointed in kfans' reaction tbh. They're reacting strongly against hyunsuk but ignoring Mashiho's case which is basically a scam, just bcs the 6th member's visual fits their taste.

But what's funny is, the 6th member himself has no big kfans support.

I doubt the existing kfans actually care whether he's in or not, they're mostly "fans of other members". I bet they dont even watch his individual vid.

And yea, sorry I dont feel like mentioning his name.

This pretty much sums up my thoughts on this whole debacle. I'm more offended by knetz being enraged over whatever rumors they believe in rather than the fact that Mashiho was robbed right in front of our noses. I saw one comment on naver saying if Mashiho had been Korean people would have questioned the decision, given yg flack for it and demanded the results be revealed, but people brushed it off by saying he can just debut in a jpop group in his country and only his kfans and ifans have been loud. It's all just heartbreaking and even more because they haven't stopped demanding for him to be added to the group, but I don't even know if yg notices it or cares at this point when he's just being attacked from all sides and by all fandoms.

The dedication of Yoonbin and Mashiho's cfans. They've raised 6.77 million won in total for support ads in just a few days. https://twitter.com/FansiteFrist/status/1089494998150610944

At this point I'm just laughing at YG's stubbornness and failure to recognize such powerful assets. First thing he said when the show started was that they needed to get this one right, but he was the one who screwed it up. At least now I feel like there may be a chance of other companies taking notice of all this ruckus and possibly making offers to them. Praying for the best.

Spamming the hell out of Mashiho's vlive rn so he gets out of ygex asap. YG stepped all over his hard work and isn't gonna debut him now or never and that jpop group isn't gonna happen with Arashi now going on hiatus and Johnny's pushing their younger groups harder than ever to make up for the loss. He's better off using his current popularity to get himself into another Korean company or even joining Amuse Japan as an actor/singer.

I feel like we'll get Yoonbin for sure. I'm optimistic about Mashiho, Doyoung, Jihoon since they all did well at the finals. They need a strong vocalist who stands out so praying for Yeongue. As for the second rapper I don't know... I would have liked Gon but he's gone now. My other faves were Jongseob and Yoshi.

So Treasure was always meant to cater to kfans while Ma6num was created while taking into account feedback from global fans. It's gonna be very interesting to see how yg manages them and if Jyunhao is in this I wonder if yg started envisioning this group from early as episode 4. Either way I'm ready to stan and ecstatic that we are getting Yeongue back.

Like others I'm also wondering what kind of music yg is gonna give them and who will be their main producer, maybe Airplay?

As far as producers I like Choice, R. Tee, Bekuh Boom, 24, Airplay, Future Bounce, Diggy, Millenium and Rovin.

I don't know if Rovin is still there.

There are like an army of producers at YG and TBL so there's so many. Some I've never heard of. But these are among the ones that are consistently good.

would love to see Rovin producing for them. I remember seeing a picture of him and Seungyoon working together a few months ago so I think he's still there. There are many good producers to choose from so I hope both groups end up being different but complimentary.

I can't believe I went from crying over the loss of both of my top picks to getting them both in the same group. I can finally stop stressing and focus on studying.

Now is when the fun begins. I think yg could still surprise us with an unexpected member. Hoping for Yunseo since I'm sure Yeongue is already in.

I think Jihoon, Yeongue and Yoshinori will make it. During the semifinals YG's eval papers showed he had circled both Jihoon and Yoshinori and then he commended them for helping Hyunsuk lead the Boomerang team. Also, in the final episode Yeongue and Yoshinori were the only trainees aside from Jaehyuk and Seunghun who were expected to be brought back due to popular demand.

YG consistently talked about how surprised he and the staff were by Yeongue's singing and netizens keep asking for him as the main vocalist. Jihoon is just as popular since they think this will be a choreo heavy group and the other popular candidates among them are Junhyuk, Inhong, Asahi and Yoshinori. If YG is still going by what they want I'm convinced it'll be Yoshi over Keita.

The reason I think Keita stands a high chance is because out of all left over trainees that aren't confirmed yet and weren't silver boys, Keita always ranked the highest. Before the finals - Keita was consistently rank #12 on the daily ranking (so, behind Treasure sans Jaehyuk, the current confirmed members and silver boys). Also by YG and the coaches, during the first evaluation Keita was #6 out of 29. For the Treasure 7 selection, the coaches chose Keita as the one who did the best + he has been in both Treasure 6 and 5. He got into Treasure 6 also because the coaches chose him. The trainers also ranked him J#1.

Technically speaking he's a better rapper, but knetz are already wondering if this group will do well since the strongest trainees all went to the other group so that's why I'm starting to think YG will add the ones most popular among them. After all they are meant to promote in Korea and have to cater to Korean people first and foremost and Yoshinori is more popular because of his looks, but we'll see. At this point I could even see Jongseob making it. In this show anything can happen lol.

People are already worrying about how well they will sell when we don't even have a finished lineup yet lmao Let alone a concept, name or debut date.

Fo real. I keep rolling my eyes, but you get all types of comments, from people still worrying that yg will ship this group to Japan, add it to Treasure, eventually neglecting them or taking too long to debut them. The one thing they seem most concerned about is the vocal line so that's why there were a lot of comments asking for Yeongue (and Seunghun but he left). Let's face it, he's the best of all the ones left.

Yunggyu is one of the top vocalists even within the 28 trainees imo.

He seriously is and he has such a distinctive voice, which is something YG has always prided himself in. I can kind of see Mashiho and Yeongue being like Jinhwan x Junhoe or Jinwoo x Seungyoon in terms of the contrast in their vocals.

Not gonna lie, Asahi was at the bottom of my list when it came to the vocalists and him being so awkward on stage didn't help either so I don't know how I would feel about him making it into this group and much less with yg possibly creating his own nct-jpn. I'm still gonna hope the other two are Yeongue and Jihoon and Asahi if just flying for a visit.

I'm okay with a group focusing more in Japan since YG does that already anyway, but I just need a strong vocalist because Mashiho and Doyoung have similar tones and I went back to rewatch Asahi in Killing Me and What To Do and I remain unimpressed.

YG groups rarely promote at the same time anyways so... doubt these two will ever promote at the same time.

I also strongly believe this group will debut next year, not this year.

They'll be considered brother groups, something yg has wanted for a while.

Can you elaborate on this? I've seen others mention it before but don't get what exactly you all mean by brother groups.

Doesn’t mean much other than both groups might do joint things like potentially collabs for some songs, or YGTV or whatever. YG tried it with Winkon but fandoms were very much against it anytime it happened and YG is probably aware of that. I still remember that dimension project between both groups that never ended up happening. So I see more of that happening with both groups. They’ll still be distinct groups, but more collabs.

It has been supposed for years that YG intended WIN to launch both WINNER and iKON with the fandoms being overlapping, and subunits (like MOBB) would be born from it, but the fandoms hate one another so it wouldn't work

with Treasure and this group, YG has split the popular "teams" between both groups so the fandoms are overlapping and will likely support both groups and units that coem from it.

I could actually see this happening and I don't think fans would be as opposed to it since now both groups basically share the same fandom and would definitely be more willing to embrace it as opposed to ics and ikonics.

YG talked a lot about how people complain about the lack of songs and promotions so I have a feeling they're gonna try to change the way they go about doing things starting with these 2 groups. It's gonna be interesting to see how they manage them.

If Yeongue isn't in the line up, they're gonna miss an amazing main vocal and a whole cutie though :/

Agree. He was my favorite vocalist since the show started. He just has such a unique and lovely tone and it would make this group sound amazing. If YG doesn't add him I'm legit gonna be questioning his choice.

Watching that fancam of Earned It makes me feel so depressed. Seunghun's voice would have been perfect in this group and I have to wonder why yg was never fond of it. Anyway, I'm still rooting for Yeongue as the last member. I've been listening to Treasure6's GC performance and his voice with Mashiho's is heaven. Those two and Jihoon would make a solid vocal line.

Inhong is so random omg could it be him ?

Inhong is actually a kfave along with Junghwan even yg talked about how people wanted him to debut them as a set and they've been asking for him to be in this lineup so who knows lol. All the options included are the ones people have mentioned the most.

But if two main vocalists are Japanese and three members are Japanese then they may be sent to Japan for a long time and we can’t barely see them

In three candidates, Yeongue is the most deserved one. He has his own vocal color, won Jeongwoo and got into Treasure 6 lineup, he was the only one in three of them getting into semi final, his vocal and Wooah stage was praised by YG, his dance skills and expression are quite okay (this is important because with Jihoon Doyoung Mashiho, they can have more performances based on heavy choreography). Main vocal material and native Korean, who can complement Mashiho well if they debut later in Korea. He is ready to debut!

I will congratulate to anyone who will make into lineup today but I will be so sad if that person isn’t Yeongue

This is what would upset me the most if Yeongue doesn't get the spot, tbh. I said the same thing when Jaehyuk made it into Treasure instead of Mashiho. Why choose someone who isn't polished when you have someone who's ready to debut and has consistently shown results. It makes no sense to me to choose anyone else over him.
