i think akb only had like 20 members when they debut

the number 48 has something to do with there being 47 prefectures and then akb48 would be the 48th place or something

ahh I see, I don't see it being very well-liked if it happens though. I'd really rather they try and cement the 2nd gens and I'm not sure if I'm remembering correctly or not but wasn't there some unhappiness with Hori centering Barrette back then? (again, I may be remembering this incorrectly ><)

That's correct, Hori did get a lot of hate for centering Barrette, which is why I'd rather 3rd Gen start from the bottom and work their way up, but I also don't think an air drop now would be taken as badly as it was then. At the time of Barrette, there were only two centers (Ikoma and Maiyan) where as now, the idea of rotating centers isn't new. And Hori had just replaced Maiyan as center when Maiyan has the most passionate fans.

mmm that's very true. although to me, a 3rd gen centering this year seems too early :x

I don't think it's gonna happen. There are many amazing girls in 3rd gen, it'll be hard to pick one and have her center. 

Like you guys said, the current Nogi is different from Barrette's Nogi. A 3rd gen merely getting on an a-side would be major news.

TBH nogi needs the 3rd gen, like all current nogi members are prone of graduating anytime, even the younger ones, considering they're around for 6 years for first gen and 4 years for second gen  now. 

the push for the 3rd gen are inevitable. 

what I'm concern from the 3rd gen is only one, they lack vocal quality

I think 48 was supposed to be a pun based on combine name of 3 AKS founders.

 

Number 46 is lower than 48 and they said the group will be rival and beat 48 even with less members
