The other day I saw a user's sig with such a perfect gif set I was instantly sold   It says Keyakizaka46 Techi so I looked them up and now I can't stop jamming to Futari Saison and Silent Majority 

I've actually been trying to get into Japanese idol girl groups but I didn't where to start, then came along this group which is perfect since it doesn't have that long of a history

The problem is I can't seem to find where that gif set is from tho....? All I remember is that its blue with a close-up shot of Techi(I think...)? Can anyone help me with that   ?

Discussion about visuals, don't u guys agree there's a stark difference btw Sakamichi and the 48s? AKB48 is well known for most of their members being average-looking (it's not just personal opinion, i've heard it being said that that was Akimoto Yasushi's concept for the group, so as to be "accessible" and "realistic" for the fans, fitting in with their whole theatre concept as well)

 

Are the 46s are a completely different story? Have they changed concept to be more visual-focused?

 

No offence cos i know there are tons of 48 fans here as well. Just saying generally-accepted visual standards.

 

Yes bc 46G were meant to be different from 48G in the first place to differentiate themselves since they're "rivals" and all. Their concept is more like old idols and their image is more like elegant bishoujo than girl next door like AKB. Their choreography and music style are different from 48G general idol up beat songs too.

I'm going through all their B-sides one by one and thus far Seifuku to Taiyou is my fave. These two are also up there now that I saw their performance, the dance routines are so good it makes the songs that much better especially the first one (excuse me I'm bad with the Japanese titles)

 

The subbed videos tho, they get removed way too fast The oldest one was 2 days ago Really? I'm a student and it is impossible to keep up if that's the case T^T

Yeah he delete them before he gets hit with copyright and get his channel taken down. You can start with that other link I gave you tho. The blog have alot of sub vids and they'll prob upload newer ones back up on dailymotion

 

There's no election in 46G, that's just 48G thing. Their handshake events are kinda of their election bc girls that start selling out more slots can be include in the single. Their promo cycle is basically release CDs -> music shows -> handshake events. They do varieties, magazines, radio stuffs, musicals etc all yr long whether they're promoting single or not. There's tend to be one album every yr

Outside of her charisma, she's also a good singer and performer, play guitar, can compose/written songs that half of songs on her albums are written by her as well as couple 48G songs, and the handshake queen of 48G so her presence is pretty big

RE: Star Power. I haven't followed much JPop outside of 46/48 world for a long time. But here is my opinion;

 

48: Oshima, Matsui, Maeda (surprised to say this but she had a poised/elegant star power, compared to the almost boyish exuberance of the other two), Kojima (Haruna), Shinoda.

 

46: Shiraishi, Ikuta. I don't follow Keyakizaka enough to make an educated opinion. IMO even though Nanase is always with Shiraishi her prominence to me is more like cheerleader effect + being a relatable girl. She is just completely overshadowed by Maiyan these days.

 

It comes down to the poise and easily communicated confidence of not doubting (at least outwardly) your appeal and your place on the stage/in the group. I think that's why so many more first gens have it versus members who join up later. They have to create the legend versus aspiring to be a part of it.
