Hello! Welcome to the thread!

They are picked by management just like Nogizaka46. The criteria that are used are not clear. It's probably a mixture of popularity (probably the most important thing) + skills (singing/dancing/mcing, etc) + potential + push.

About Miyu, she's skilled, but lacks popularity. Maybe that's why they pushed her back in favor of more popular girls. Or maybe they just wanted to give the spotlight to some other girls and shake things up, try another formation and see if it worked.

Ah i see thanks for the explaination. I always thought Miyu was one of the more charming member that could attract the public's attention imo. I was hoping for a berika, miyu, techi, imayui, berisa 1st row formation for 2nd single and have sugai and nagahama right behind techi in 2nd row. But oh well, I just hope they don't do major movements in the formation for now when they're still new to the public.

On Nogi:

- Seems like Ashurin center was a one time experimental thing.

- Yay for Takayama in 1st row and Nanamin center.

On Keyaki:

-They're slowly experimenting with the order now. I'm expecting hiragana to be in senbatsu for next single and maybe a new center.

-Really curious how this 7-7-7 formation will turn out on epecially on stage.

-Habu should've been 3rd row center considering her height.

-Yay for Suzumon back in front row.

About goddamn time they released the MV. Wonder what took so long this time around.

Well, the only complain that I have is that the scenes were quite choppy(?), like it kept cutting to another scene before I could actually catch the dance moves.

And I kinda wished they had filmed the full body when the girls were dancing down the steps instead of just the upper half.

But overall, it was a beautiful MV; appreciate the sunlight and colour scheme, and for once the third row members weren't buried at the back.

Can't wait for the B-sides~

Keyakizaka SaiMajo at Best Hit Kayousai 2016

Nogizaka Sayonara no Imi at Best Hit Kayousai 2016

Orz I really liked the purple and red costumes Nogi wore in their MV, too bad they only performed wearing those once iirc

Hmmm the instrumentals are not an issue for me but I'm not so fond of the vocals. I really liked the verses but the chorus was a bit of a let down for me when the girls raised their pitch. It kinda killed the rock element for me. This is just based on my first impression, so hopefully it'll grow on me as time passes.

^ Good question... it could go either way tbh. I highly doubt hiragana will be present because that'll be too many members + they don't have anything to substantiate their Kouhaku debut. For Neru I can't tell. Iirc Neru has been sitting out of SaiMajo during live performances so I don't think she'd be performing too. There again management might want to use this opportunity to promote hiragana and make them perform a 32-nin formation.

In other news, since Techi's only 15 and has that age restriction thing, I have a feeling Keyaki will be the first to perform for red team. It's going to be awesome if they could start the ball rolling with SaiMajo.

Also, Zuumin will finally be able to meet Arimura Kasumi (assuming she hasn't already) lol.

Damn... I forgot about that whole YouTube Red thing. I'll put twitter links together in future.

Yeah they should've used head sets tbh. Techi couldn't pass her mic to another member either bc they all have their own hand motions to execute.

I really liked how they started and ended with the tower and how the song ended with the members spliting up into different directions with their backs facing the camera; it's a pretty uncommon ending pose.

Neru is not center material, IMO. At least for now. Maybe in the future. And Hiragana is still way too unrefined. Hope they work harder in the future.

Found the full performance-only vid on YouTube but it was only 480p.

720p starts at 23:31

In other news, I'm excited for their Msta performance on 12/2. Can't wait for Msta's crappy camera work *inserts doge emoji*

A short clip of Hiragana rehearsing

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7qac60XAHtk

No hate towards Iguchi, but I've been wondering for the longest time why she was picked to be a member of Hiragana. If anything, it's really pitiful to see her lagging behind in terms of both skills and popularity.

In other news, Keyabingo 2 has been announced and will start airing on 10 Jan 2017. Excited  :la:

What is everyone's opinions on the 3rd gen? I think there are a lot of really beautiful girls in the new gen, but as they slowly start to have more activities (FNS, 3rd principal show), I can't help but worry for my favorite 2nd gen....I don't want them to get shafted

Anyway, I also have a custom award form I want to use for Akanen if no one else was planning to get her. Which one is best?

Other image suggestions and crops are welcome since I don't have access to my usual photoshop atm.

Damn I have yet to remember all the faces of Hiragana and now there's Nogi 3rd gen. Need to step up my game.

Yup 3rd and 4th look good.

The Keyakizaka46 concert ended successfully. The viewers for the live stream is up to more than 1 million.

For those of you who didn't get to watch the concert, here is the link for all the performance..

Ah, what a great Christmas gift. Keyaki's achieved so much in under a year (which I'm not sure if it's a good thing or not in the long run but that's a separate issue) and seeing the members get emotional during the concert made me teary eyed tbh. I'm glas I stan them.

Hi! I'm new. So, what are the differences between Nogizaka and Keyakizaka?

Hi welcome to the fandom and thread. Feel free to ask questions and join in discussions when you feel like :)

KOHAKU song lists are out.

Keyaki ofc is doing silent majority

Nogi is doing Sayonara no imi.

I hope the stage for Sayonara is super pretty, even though I wish they chose a different song from this year. ^^' http://www.nhk.or.jp/kouhaku/artists/

Kinda bummed that Keyaki isn't the first to preform for red team but oh well. Hopefully both Nogi and Keyaki get new costumes.

Late to every damn discussion on here but anyway...

I guess I'm one of those unpopular opinions. My ranking would be

Silent Majority

Sekai ni wa ai shikanai

Sayonara no imi

Futari Saison

---wall---

Hadashi

Harujion

Kouhaku outfits  :ahmagah:

I was aware of the 46 family, but it was only today that I took my time to watch their videos, and... I fell in love with Keyakizaka46. These girls are so so so good, I just love everything about them <3

It's interesting that in my discovering journey I've searched about almost all of the other groups from the 48 family (losing myself in the generations and different concepts, and learning about the way these groups works), even SNH48 (which is my favorite along K46, even though they aren't part of 48 family anymore), watched Sayonara no Imi by N46 girls and then, just then, discovered the amazing Futari Saison, the best video from the group that made me accept that from now on I would also not be just a fan of korean idols, but japanese too (I was already in love with C-ute and becoming a fan of Angerme, but, at least for me, the 48/46 groups are in another level of idol group, H!P is a different thing.)

With that said, I'm officially on the japanese idol boat (and pretty happy and satisfied about it, hope I don't regret this). Anything you guys have to say for a new fan? :D

Welcome to the thread and feel free to stick around  :)

Also, does anyone have any idea where I can read Keyakizaka's brody December issue interview?

I think those under 18 can't perform after a certain time in Japan but it's probably not that lol (she's 18 now right) maybe she was feeling unwell or something cos she performed at Kouhaku

The CDTV performance was pre recorded so there's no age restriction for the younger ones, hence you see Techi who's 15. Not sure where Asuka was tbh.

Keyaki was definitely prerecorded but AKB and Nogizaka were performing live tho? They even had the MC segment before where they drank something

Maybe she'll update it in a mail or blog entry lol

Oh true, did not see that LIVE sign at the top of the screen. I'm a mess.
