Do you watch Hello Counselor?

I stopped watching like a year ago, after some very frustrating moments where the hosts were laughing and trying to make jokes out of serious problems, or when the problem that is brought is stupid.

The concept itself is pretty nice but they need an actual counselor on the show who can give advice. After what I saw today, never going back.

I use to years ago but I recently watched a few months ago to see GOT7 JB and Jinyoung episode and was able to learn more about JB since he related to one of the stories on the show about the father being an alcoholic and his birth parents being divorced. Learned the dad we always see him with is is step-father.

I watched it for a while and still will watch it occasionally if it pops up in my recommandations on YT and seems interesting, but this show is seriously frustrating and makes me really dislike how Koreans deal with some problems.

It also makes me want to fly to Korea and shout at people to take mental health seriously and introduce some proper laws so that people won't have to be afraid to confront their issues anymore because they have to fear losing their jobs.

I knew before that there's quite some issues in the Korean society, but few things made it more clear than this show.

It's not even like the hosts are bad people or anything, it's just the society they grew up in is really messed up in some ways and tbh, if done right the show can be great at making people more aware of certain issues, like when foreigners come on the show to talk about the discrimination they experience, just for being different and stuff like that, they mostly handle these cases quite well, but then they have serious issues that deal with mental and even physical health and it just gets made into a joke...

Not in a while, no. I used to occasionally watch an episode here and there if I liked the guests. I find the concept of the show to be pretty weird actually with the concern/story with the most votes receiving a cash prize. I don't get how that's supposed to help with the matter at hand. People also do not change overnight upon receiving the show's "counselling" so I don't get the purpose really.
