"Too big" seems just a made up reason to refuse politely to her request

i think it's a number of factors. her body type probably one of them. her image and popularity are others. i do wish designers were more open minded about who they dress, however they have a business to run, and they can't dress just anybody and everybody for free. especially since for bigger women, garments likely have to be custom made, compared to a skinny woman who will probably get a sample garment from the runway with little alterations necessary.
