A Tale of Two Generations

Beyonce and Ariana are both hugely successful artists who debuted over a decade apart(Beyonce-1998 with Destiny's Child, Ariana-2013). The following stats(post-2010) show the difference between the consumption habits of their target demographics and is a good reflection of more mature vs newer artists. Thank you to Ukmix for providing the numbers which are updated as of 2018/2019.

Beyoncé-4 1,560,000 (2011)

Ariana Grande-My Everything 735,000 (2014)

Wasnt the thread it was the title , i think theyre both women empowering people. So i felt that the 'vs' was just irrelevant.

Yeah I agree, the vs in the initial title wasn't intentional, sorry about that.

Not to say Ariana is not talented or doesn't make good music, but I don't think she's at a level where she can be compared to Beyonce. LIke at all. Even if it's just statistics.

I agree that Ariana is less established in the industry since Beyonce has had two decades to build a great legacy but I thought it's interesting how two chart-topping artists can achieve success in such different ways. Love them both.
