The fans believe any crap, and this pretty much outrages me. That's what makes me the most sick of this fandom. If I ever decide to leave the kpop fandom for a single reason, it'll be probably for this. Fans are ingenuous, and they think that everything that their ingenuous mind creates is officially true and undeniable. That's why people say that gay idols go into WGM, because the fans will think that their idols are undeniably straight because they are so fucking their on-show partner. See Jokwon example. There are people who take his WGM with Gain as a bible. And come on, it's JOKWON I really hate this, because it makes me feel around a bunch of 5-year olds. They don't question, they don't ratiocinate, and they take anything as TRUTH. TRUTH. TRUTH. I can go into tumblr and say "[Confirmed] Luhan has a girlfriend called Michelle" and there would be people freaking out, I mean, FOR REAL. I remember back in EXO predebut days that someone created a rumor that EXO would participate a 'dating show' with a girl group called P.O.S.S.E. And this group doesn't even exists. People overreacted for ages.

I wrote a shorter version of my essay that's only about KeySeop, which you could fit into the OP:

Park Hyeong Seop is a Korean model. According to Hyeongseop, Key and him have known eachother since childhood because they're both from Daegu. It's unclear the nature of Hyeongseop's relationship to Key growing up, and whether or not they kept in contact during Key's pre-debut trainee days. From what we know, they made their first public appearance together (but separate) during Oct. 2012 Seoul Fashion Week. During this event, Key attended a Dominic's Way show that PHS was modeling for on the runway. Judging from Key's indifferent reaction towards PHS on the runway and the lack of resulting KeySeop materials from this event, their relationship here appears to initially be a casual one.

 

Key and Hyeongseop were both spotted backstage at SFW Dominc's Way show, however no photo has surfaced of them together (or anything to indicate their closeness).

 

However, they may have reconnected with eachother backstage at this event, and quickly got closer from there. Because since this event, PHS has mentioned meeting up with Key to chat during their free time... meeting for coffee, chatting late night over the phone, and even traveling overseas together to attend the 2013 Golden Disk Awards in Malaysia. Their relationship (which may have started off as casual childhood friends catching up with one another) has escalated quickly, as can be seen in the numerous selcas they've uploaded which showcase the close bond they've developed.

A visible change in their relationship came during Seoul Fashion Week on Mar. 2013. Compared to the SFW from Oct. 2012 (where Key was not paying significant attention to PHS on the runway), Key is seen brighter and happier here, smiling and crushing like a teenage boy when PHS walks past him on the runway.

They are definitely closer to eachother than the months prior, and Key is clearly infatuated by Hyeongseop's presence. Even if they only knew each other as childhood friends at first, their relationship quickly developed into something more after months of reconnecting with each other. This is also the first time Key publicly acknowledged his relationship to PHS.

In the week that followed, a rumor popped up (nothing confirmed), but many speculations and assumptions were made about it. Even if the rumors were not specifically about KeySeop, there were many parallels that could cause someone to alert them and make them more cautious. PHS deleted all his tweets mentioning Key this same week. There are many theories as to why, but we may never know what exactly happened that caused KeySeop to go into hiding for a month.

 

Even though Key and PHS stopped being public about their relationship for a month, they were still close as indicated by photos uploaded by other people (such as photos uploaded by the owner of an Itaewon restuarant that KeySeop went to). About a month later, Key uploads a photo from this same event to his instagram. It's unknown why Key suddenly uploaded it after a month, and why the sudden shift to be public about KeySeop again. Whatever the reason, KeySeop is gradually beginning to go public again.

Since Hyeongseop is a model and Key is interested in fashion and shopping, they do share a special and refreshing relationship. Coincidentily, Hyeongseop even fits what Key has mentioned as his Ideal Type (tall, slim, dignified, posh, etc.). But whether they are merely close friends or more is honestly only something they know (and if they are more than friends, it's something they probably won't share publicly anyway). Regardless of the true nature of their relationship, Key does seem happier and glowing ever since Hyeongseop's appearance into his life early 2013...and Key's happiness is what ultimately matters. So let's enjoy all these KeySeop moments!

The keyseop tag on both twitter and tumblr are such a mess.This thread is really getting around...   I'm glad to see some people are enjoying the stuff we post here (feel free to join us!), but then there are also those who's response frustrates me. I saw that asianfanfic thing too...

It's basically a copy of my essay, but then they kinda mocked the keyseop part saying "just because they're photographed together doesn't mean they're fucking." And they went on to claim that jongkey was realer because they show interest in eachother unlike keyseop (um...I think those stares key gave phs at sfw, and phs tweeting nonstop about key indicates interest from both sides; and besides, I never claimed jongkey wasn't ever real either. key being uncomfortable with jjong when he was doing the backhug was suppose to show that they do have underlying feelings for each other, that's why Key seemed hesitant to show it for some reason).

 

Anyway, the purpose of this thread wasn't to invalidate any other ships, so I'm surprised people are becoming so defensive and even hating on hyeongseop and people who like Keyseop because of it. Some of us find Key and Hyeongseop cute together and believe they have a very close relationship (possibly more than friends). And what we believe doesn't effect Key's relationship with anyone else, nor are we forcing anyone to believe in anything.

 

I don't really do shipping, so I don't fully understand why people are so pressed about finding out what's real (which I don't think we can truthfully know) and I'm confused with how people can feel threatened by other pairings (what we believe/ship shouldn't effect what you ship if you are a firm believer in JongKey or whatever)... but I guess most of these people are really young teenagers. Which is sad, as I don't think they realize how offensive it is to interfere with and dictate someone else's relationship just because they want to protect and prove the validity of their ships (real or imagined).

 

Since we have many lurkers, I'll copy this post I made in the "Who's gay" thread about it (regarding JongKey stans messaging phs to prove he's not gay and just friends with key...which is still dubious):

 

"Whether PHS really replied [to anyone on facebook] or not, I'm still uncomfortable with why anyone would be so pressed to find out Key's exact relationship to PHS by messaging him with personal questions and sharing it with everyone. Let them reveal the nature of their relationship on their own terms. If they're more than friends, I highly doubt he'll admit it (and questioning him about it will only make them feel like they have to hide their relationship more). If they're just friends, the assumption that they could be more than friends in people's questioning can affect their friendship (i.e. make them more self-conscious about how they hang out). Just because we ship Keyseop, it doesn't mean we ship everyonexkey. Actually, LOTS of people do this and nobody complains :D I mean, I see everyone spazzing once an idol posts a photo with a girl (pretty mostly), saying they must be fucking and "OH I SHIP IT SO HARDDDDDD". Really. (curiously I don't see this happening too much with Key. I think that he's shown so much that he's gay that most people don't think he could have something with a girl LOL)

I don't know if it's because of that rumor, but I have seen comments on Korean forums from K-netizens speculating PHS and Key to be dating. I posted them in the old H8 thread before it got shut down. I'll try to find those comments again. But even in S.Korea, there are people who think Key and PHS are dating.

It's the Dispatch Gay Idol rumor, where people thought Dispatch was going to reveal a gay couple. And I'm certain K-netizens speculated Key, because "Dispatch Gay Idol Key" was the top related search when searching about that rumor on naver. I remember browsing and seeing speculations, one specific comment mentioned that the Dispatch gay idol scandal was going to involve a love triangle between Key, Hyeongseop and Woohyun. So even in S.Korea, they've entertained the idea that Key and PHS could be dating.

I remember about this, but I thought it was going to be released something actual like "[bREAKING] Idol one and idol two scandal", etc... It didn't happened. If it was really about Key, did SM foiled their plan?

 

Do you guys know about Yuri lesbian rumor with Son Ye Jin and Han Ye Seul? So, it was posted as a blind item and it was quickly deleted. Still, people saw it. And as far as I got to know, Jonghyun and Shin Sekyung's scandal was pretty much on the same period (as well as TaecSica thing, so it could be due to both or one of them).

So, my thoughts are, the history is repeating. A rumor that could possibly cause a scandal and the company using another member as a cover-up.
