They care more about the thought of fangirling than the actual people they fangirl about. This is how I see all of stan verse so it’s not unexpected that they stan groups they know nothing about. B612 22,399 Posted January 21, 2019 Share Posted January 21, 2019 I doubt anyone would STAN a group pre debut what really holds most people is the music (or at least it should be) and the members personalities you can't really know much pre debut, most fans who hype groups pre debut are just interested in getting into them and having interest is different from stanning, it's the reason why so many groups lose popularity after one or two releases (if they can't maintain the interest). Large portion of Kpop is not about music only, but about the journey with your favorite groups. Fans love the feeling of idolizing something they find interesting (either it's pictures, videos...) and spend time from beginning with their favorite group. I was a fan of predebut NCT (smrookies), but they SM put out content with them so it was like you were following them through their trainee period.
