Do you miss kpop 2010-2011 period as I do?

I'm currently rewatching SMTown ending videos and all those interactions made me remember that period, (2009) 2010-2011 (2012). I remember people going crazy over Yuri and Minho, Hyoyeon and Eunhyuk, Sulli and Minho's cute rom com drama( To the beautiful you), them openly joking with each other on stage, holding hands, even having water show

I remember 2pm being called beastly idols lol, who always gave bops, then Let's go dream team which I watched religiously, Big Bang appearing first time on Running Man as a group, and me watching that episode 4 times. CHANSUNG'S BANANA,  Jay Park's 'When I seduce Jessica' and Idol Army show in general. Star Golden Bell and Nicole as an ace, Gyuri who was confident goddess, then that Miss and Mr Korea Idol show and me going crazy because I could see all those interactions lol.

Then my fave show Star Dance Battle where After School always were the best, and SNSD too (and us fans arguing in comments who did better lol). I would watch my bae Hyoyeon being dancing queen she is, and I remember being so happy YG sent Taeyang because I shipped him and Hyo lol.

I also watched Star King and Strong Heart every day, but always struggled to find at least 240p version hahaha. Snsd's Intimate Note, Champagne show, Beatles Code, Hello Baby, SNSD and The dangerous boys, Romantic and Idol omg I cheered for Hyejung and JB there ( special shout-out to Dream High♥)

So many memories came back as I wrote this. Maybe those times weren't too ideal, but they were my first moments in kpop and I cherish them as my childhood a lot :')

What do you remember the most?

At least they had collabs and real moments, and not slow mo videos where they ''looked at each other across the stage''

Yes!

They had reality shows like 'Idol Army' and 'Family Outing' together as well.

Moreover, they are real friends and some of them even were dating (like Khunfany).

So it was much more entertaining to ship idols in 2010-11 than nowadays with that sick 'red arrow' culture.

i miss a lot (all the things you guys said above about the interaction between groups and the old variety shows but also the old sonority and MVs in box. i just miss that)

I miss not just in terms of kpop industry but on terms of international fans as well (you know when more than half was fan of anime and didn´t like american pop music that much or at least if they liked they was not obsessed with their faves make it big in america bc they like kpop being different and not a copy&paste of american/western pop. also there was less fans so it was less toxic, the "cancelled culture" didnt exist and people didnt care much about YT views)

Anyway i am not much into this new kpop. after 2013 i slowly started to get drive away from it and got into jpop and now i enjoy more jpop

i still listen kpop and like some new groups but is not like before

Yeah this period is really nostalgic. I know people say people only look back on this era with so much fondness because of nostalgia, but like you said there were so many things around that made kpop so much fun that aren't there now. I wish programs with different idol groups intersecting was still a thing now.

what I thought exactly! Kpop is widely spread now, true, and that helps Korean economy ( and more people can listen this gold), but as more people arrived, it became so messy. I hate that cancelled culture you mentioned, and people acting all smart and sharp on twitter and insta. Let's not even talk about shipping culture now..

But what to expect when 70% current ''kpop fans'' (they call themselves that, but know like one group) are 12 yo kids who are given too much freedom on the internet.

i don't know if you all will agree, but I feel like idols back then were more humble? idk, when I watch fancams now, most of them seem so cold when they greet each other, or they not even clap at the end of other artists' performances. Kpop always gave me that colourful, family vibe, but it's fading now..
