It's been announced that all performances scheduled at NGT48 Theater after January 22 will be cancelled.

Team NIII's 'Hokori no Oka' shows and Team G's 'Saka Agari' shows were scheduled to be held at the theater, but they have all been cancelled. The theater will be closed until January 24. In addition, the teams' shows that were scheduled after January 26 will be changed to Research Students' performance 'PARTY ga Hajimaru yo ~Kenkyuusei no Ibuki wo Kanjite!~.'

Team G vice captain Yamaguchi Maho revealed that she was attacked by two men in front of her home in December during a live broadcast on Twitter and SHOWROOM on January 8 and 9. How the management handled the incident started a riot, and so theater manager Imamura Etsuro was replaced by Hayakawa Maiko. NGT48's agency and managing company AKS also held a press conference on January 14 to apologize regarding the matter.

Ok, but why are yall cancelling their preformances? Wasting their pay because yall didn't use common sense when a member could had been violated?

All their sponsors are dropping them, so the group is basically dead at this point. The girls who weren't involved in the scandal can get an offer to join sister groups I guess ?

Why don't they just reveal the members that did it, force them to apologise at a press conference and kick them out of the group with the promise to take such events seriously from now on with harsh punishment. That would put the group back into a positive light and possible cause sponsors to come back. They should top it off by collaborating with an anti-bullying association and participate in a national campaign to emphasise their sincerity in wanting to improve things and create positive publicity for the group.

The idiots running this at AKS seem to have the mindset "the damage of Maho's issue is done" and they just have to ride out the shitstorm until it ends or they can successfully pin Maho as someone who should have just stayed quiet because look at how bad things got when she spoke up. I honestly don't think they understand that this is an actively dangerous issue for them with political pressure mounting, because they are viewed by the public as still punishing the victim in favor of the perpetrators. It's a public morals scandal it's not going to just resolve itself.
