Balancetonquoi 4,707 Posted January 15, 2019 Share Posted January 15, 2019 they have many good aspects like a strong vocalist (seunghee) a charismatic member (yeeun) a foreigner member who speaks other languages (sorn) a visual (Elkie) a good dancer (seungyeon) why are they underrated ? even momoland is more popular it seems ! theyre starting to make more mature songs and I like it (pepe was bop tho) but whats missing ? idk cuz I dont stan them/follow them that much. do they have a problematic member that I dont know about ? tide 14,243 Posted January 15, 2019 Share Posted January 15, 2019 moderate predebut hype and well received debut they fell out of favor with ifans during like and kfans with the whole btob situation the transition from 5 to 7 received mixed reactions they gained some steam back with ifans during goblin and black dress and kfans with summer kiss and like it basically their ability to grab attention has been undulating throughout their career. theyre a great group though, so hopefully this next cb is their home run. ( but at this point i was out of touch with kpop ) but then goblin and black dress gained them some steam to put them from not talked about to clc deserve better ( and i think there was like a cute concept comeback called where are you? between goblin and black dress ) but it feels like clc have now been on the they people need to notice them sing song list but it's not really going anywhere? like everyone says stan clc but during the comeback...it's kinda meh in the end.... cube Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

paimon 702 Posted January 15, 2019 Share Posted January 15, 2019 to sum up what others said cube has been shit at management, they were especially bad during clc’s early career when they would have long periods without promotion and zero direction (which is an issue they still have to this day) clc is in an unfortunate place because they’re deep into their career with no identity, which solely falls on the shoulders of cube - they have never had a staple sound and their concepts always dramatically shift. the members are talented and perform their concepts well but they are literally the only consistent thing you can attach to which isn’t enough for a music group ifans loved their fierce era but gi-dle debuting and smashing with something so similar kind of pushes them against a wall seemingly once again with no direction (tho not like that was consistent either because they randomly dropped an arsty ballad in between hobgoblin and black dress lmao) Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
changemysoul 1,603 Posted January 15, 2019 Share Posted January 15, 2019 They started off pretty strong and then they had that whole attitude controversy plus member additions and an inconsistent concept, many people felt they should have stuck with their debut concept. i also agree with the last part. during that time clc debuted, they could've gone further with the retro sound and look. pepe was sassy, fun / cute and the sound of it was a little sexy but like out in your face. they could've done a lot more with the sound and everything. i don't know they changed. and i like it should've been promoted as a main track. i accidentally found it and i liked it a lot. it has a lot of views and i think it could've helped keep some of the intl stream while still being cute. i think one of the biggest problems were the concept changes. I have seen many arguments that CLC has little public exposure because their variety contents remain on "What's On Cube" which is a very small channel. Other than Elkie and Sorn, I have seen very little exposure of the other members on channels other than Cube's internal media. Not to mention, they only had one release (if you don't count Elkie's solo) last year. Especially now with GI-DLE very successful debut, unfortunately, I think Cube won't focus on CLC as much :( Lastly, with entertainment, it's always a wild card. You could do everything right, but if the public doesn't love you as much as they should, there is not much the group can do. I mean, I love CLC to death, but I always feel like CLC is rarely someone's main stan. People will like their videos, but they won't go as far as to buy their albums.
