What's the point of a The little Mermaid live action

If it's just a re-make of the Disney classic then non, i really dont get those pointless live action re-makes, i know its to cash in some easy money, but still a waste of time imo. Also doubt they'll cast Henry he's approaching his 40s(still hot as hell tho)

But if they chose to recreate(retell) the story like they did with Maleficent it would be great, maybe a darker version, closer to the source material

Honestly I wouldn't mind if they still cast Henry, but the problem for me would be the chemistry since Ariel is supposed to be very young, at least younger than 20 - if they stick to the Disney version. So either they cast him and an actress who's atleast 22-25, or they ruin my dreams and cast someone else lol

I'd love to see the original version too, but it will be too dark for Disney and I'm 99% sure they'll mess it up if they try to change the story... since the main plot of the story was the blind love she had for the prince and they'll try to do something more progressive of it... eh :derp:

Oh yeeeees, and let all the ignorant parents watch it with their kids, thinking it's the disney cartoon version with the happy ending, just to make their kids cry cause the mermaid dies in the end. I'm here for it.

TO MAKE MONEY

Disney wants to steal our money by making live action adaptions/reboots that are garbage. Do you have any idea how many more of these type of films are on Disney's schedule in the upcoming years? WE'RE GETTING A MALEFECIENT SEQUEL, MULAN LIVE ACTION, PINNOCHIO LIVE ACTION, AND MORE.

WHAT THE #$@% DISNEY?

All I want from them is Endgame.

I agree.

If not him, another person that I think can play Prince Eric is David Giuntoli from Grimm. Every time I watch that show (especially the later seasons when he changes his style) he starts to look like Eric to me if you do like an older adult version of the movie that's more dark.
