That means letting your employers know your social media account.

I would tell them that I don't have a social media account to save myself the trouble ohla.png

No, why would they need to know that?

(I'm also not on social media)

They've probably already looked it up during the recruitment process, but sure why not. I don't have anything posted that I'm ashamed of or want to hide.

i don't usually post that much on my facebook and instagram account, so i would have no problems for them to know about that.

But i don't even tell my friends and family about my twitter account. that's my safe bubbule laugh.png

They'll probably look you up anyway. Most big jobs expect you to have a linkedin account nowadays wich goes on your cv, from there they can probably get links to your instagram, twitter, website and whatever and just track down the rest from there. You would be surprised how much information you can get about someone through their different accounts.

It's not about being ashamed of smth or whatever.

It's about privacy.

And it's about keeping professional life separated from personal one.

So a big NO.

I don't mind as long as I should not promote or even follow back the company's social media account too.

No. That's none of their business.

sadly my current employer doesn't think so. they even made me unfriended, unfollowed and delete contact of some bad exes that some are related to my university background.

I'm in journalism/PR. They're not going to hire me otherwise (though they can probably find it themselves).
