Tokyo Girls Style

Tokyo Girls Style (Tokyo Joshiryu in Japanese) is a five-member Japanese pop and dance idol group signed to Avex Trax. The group was revealed on January 1st, 2010, with intentions to announce one member a day. However, all members of the groups were leaked at once. Prior to the announcment, they were compared to Avex Trax's previous girl groups dream and SweetS. They performed their first live at SHIBUYA O-nest on February 7th of that year and opened for Avex's Co-ed group AAA on their Heart to Heart Tour on April 20th. 

 

The group official debuted on May 5th with "Kirari" and then released their second single "Onnaji Kimochi" two weeks later on the 19th (they also released the single in Mandarin Chinese in order to break into other markets). In 2012, they became the youngest female group to perform at the Nippon Budokan. They held a second live the following year.
