Does your religion (or lack thereof) affect your interest in kpop?

Sort of a part 2 of my earlier thread because i’m curious today so please humor me

Personally as a Christian I find that interacting with other kpop fans can be a little hard given that most people who are into kpop (on twitter at least) are usually somewhat anti-christian. Also when an idol says they’re a christian I tend to check up on them because it’s cool that we share a belief.

So lmk if your religious beliefs affect how you interact with kpop whether it be fans or idols.

Not really cause My mind set is that's you not me and it doesn't have anything to do with me i respect your beliefs but idc lol ..but same about the the twitter thing I've ran across a certain fan of my fav groups who looked down on my religion .. so i got turned off on expressing my beliefs

nah i'm a heathen with no set belief system ...

but seriously i respect everyone's beliefs so if an idol is a christian it's fine with me, same as any other belief system. as long as it makes you or them happy and it isn't hurting anyone i think it's great.

Nope.

I don't think the religion of people around me should affect how i interact with them and sometimes i don't even want to know about their religion cause sometimes it could lead to preconceptions.

I'm Christian as well even though i can't say that i'm really that religious. But i was never more interested in a celebrity just cause they had my religion. Also, i have noticed that my religion is not that known in korea so i didn't hear about an idol with the same religion as me.

i'm catholic (but i don't believe absolutely in it? idk how to explain, nvm it's not the topic) and it kinda affects my interest in kpop i guess? if an idol ever says he's catholic then i'll check up who they are because most idols seems to be christian and while catholics are also christians, they're not a part of the exact same religion as me so it's kinda rare to find an idol sharing the same beliefs. also i don't talk about it on twitter because people are anti-catholicism and i don't want to get involved in a fight with people who can't understand that my religion isn't bad, it's just that some people are using it to do bad things, just like with any other religion. so when kpop stans talk shit about it i usually unfollow them because i know i won't change their opinion.

Christianity in Korea is actually pretty huge so I don't know why you haven't heard much about it. Here are some articles on the topic. 1, 2, 3

Yeah going onto Twitter and espousing Christian beliefs typically isn't a good idea, especially in a fan culture that's as aggressively secular as Kpop.

I'm irreligious. I stan BTS and they're either Aethiest/Irreligious or haven't disclosed their religion. Though I think that stanning a group so disconnected from religion is more of a coincidence rather than me being drawn to them because of their lack of religion tbh.
