That's amazing, but also wow was this year low in terms of physicals in the US.

I'm shocked nobody from America hit a Million this year.

Pure sales are DEAD, with the exception of a few! Lots of retailers don’t even sale physical cds anymore.. and streaming now makes up over 60% of the US music industry revenue !

I know, but i was expecting at least 1 million seller.

Last year had 2 with 1 just barely missing the mark.

The only artists that I can think of that can get 1M+ pure sales in the US are Taylor Swift, Beyonce and Adele. Taylor is able to do so because of the tour bundles + merch bundles that she does for every tour. Beyoncé's last album 'Lemonade' sold 1.9M pure. Adele, on the other hand, is a BEAST. This was her first week sales in the US for the BBD200 chart:

25 - 3.48 MILLION (3.38M were pure sales)

I was shocked Sweetener didn't do better. T-Swift does crazy stuff to get those physical sales tho. Like, the more Reputation albums you bought the better your place in line to buy tickets to her concert. With each album purchase you'd get a "boost" to increase your chances to get the best tickets, so loooots of fans mass purchased. :/

Sweetener didn't even sell 175K+ pure sales. I was surprised to say the least and this is counting tour bundles too.

These are big numbers considering that americans barely buy physical albums anymore they prefer digital albums. My cousin told me that one of the reasons is that it's environment friendlier and easier to buy.

Congrats BTS ... True global Kings !!
