Why do we never hear about dark skinned ethnic groups finding light skinned ones unattractive?

I find that nearly all discussion focuses on why light skinned people might find dark skinned people unattractive, as if all light skinned people are universally attractive for dark skinned people? Surely there needs to be discussion about how dark skinned ethnic groups can find like skinned ones unattractive?

Nah fam

Come to Europe and it's the complete opposite

Everyone wants to be tan especially in Britain/Ireland

People judge you if you're too pale

"Pastey" "Go outside more" "Are you sick?" "Ghost" "Unhealthy"

The white men in hollywood arent attractive to me

Like I guess they are the ideal of handsome and beauty but they look basic in my eyes

Ah paleness

With my people if you have a light skinned child they're the most beautiful thing but then they also get teased and called whitey. It's nothing too bad though most adult females brag when the children are on the pale/colored eyes side

I guess I'm talking about properly dark skin like what South Indians and some South-East Asians have and some Africans. I personally find most North Indian males unattractive for example but I don't see anyone writing about it, ditto I don't see why Malays/SEA can't exist who find Koreans unattractive but no article out there at all.

BTW this is one of the reasons why I hate it when light skinned ethnic groups tan to a darker skin tone in order to represent themselves fighting colorism or something like that, because it's not just about skin color but also things like culture and face shapes.

Southern Europeans who dislike Northern Europeans might be the best example I can think of that actually gets reported on.

People don't fake tan to "fight colourism" you could find the most racist bigot alive who still wants to be tan

People just find tan skin more flattering since it's more slimming and if you live in cold cloudy countries it's a symbol of wealth because they can afford foreign holidays

Why would anyone tan to such a dark skin tone though, for East Asians and Indians it makes no sense. It's more like your pretending to pass yourself off as the darker skinned ethnicity. Like if you're a light skinned person trying to get elected and you don't want the people to notice that you're not actually from the local ethnicity.

Maybe because one standard of beauty is more represented and over time and with enough exposure we're conditioned to accept it and not question it too much.

It's a western thing I guess. People really do like being tan here. Tanned people are typically found "more attractive" than pale people.

Edit: for example, ariana grande uses fake tan to look quite tanned. I find it pretty dumb, but tons of light skinned actors do the same.

it's "madonna del petrolio" in my language. cause i have long straight hair and i'm "paler".

I don't get that though? What does Madonna and petrol have to do with being pale?
