Do you ever notice when there's only one black person in the room?

Or maybe other minorities, although I'm not sure the feeling is the same with them.

I know sometimes we feel uncomfortable about it, we think about what other people may be thinking, or we just feel really out of place.

Do you ever notice? What goes through your mind?

This is a question to people who aren't black, of course.

Thinking too much is one of the major reasons why racism even exist.

Why should people even notice how many black people is in the room or if they are any? We are all the same humans.

When I enter a room, I'm not counting how much people with different skin color (from mine) is in there.

I am not sure if I notice, and if I do its nothing more than an obersvation of a physical attribute.

I rememeber one time when going to a hookah lounge, a person I was with walked in the door, paused for a few seconds and then dragged me back outside. When I asked wtf was wrong with her she said she didnt want to be in there because “we were the only white people.†I didnt even notice…but I said “so what?†I made her go back in and we all had a great time. I think she learned something that night.
