How to stop wanting to die?

Find sth that u like to do that makes you excited

Find reasons why ur life is worthy to the world.

Think about all the people u love that would be hurt by your death

Think about about people who live in worse conditions and have to battle death in every second of their life maybe this will make u appreciate your life better though it sucks.

And lastly I know this is stupid but think about the pain. Most deaths are pretty painful and for someone who wants to die haven't they already suffered from enough pain in their lives?

If u're really thinking about suicide pls do talk to a professional. Ur life might be much more worthy than u think so pls don't give up on it.

Change your surroundings. Whenever I have scary/dark thoughts, I either go out for a walk, I sleep over at my relative's house.

Changing how I look also helps me, for instance I sometimes dye or cut my hair, buy new clothes, do my nails. When I actually put effort into how I look, it tends to lift my mood.

But don't do it too much though otherwise it defeats the purpose.

long term: see a psychiatrist and therapist. it sounds dumb but ever since I got on Zoloft my suicidal episodes have gone down 100-fold. I think I only wanted to die like three times this entire year of 2018 and that's huge for me cuz it used to be a constant, weekly thing and every week I was on the edge of dying. 


Not everyone finds the right medicine right away bc it's hard since everyone is different, I had to try 3 different medicines, but it really eventually worked. 


 


short term: listen to music and think of nothing else but the music. try reading, writing, just anything to distract you - it actually works. call a hotline, chat with people about it online if need be, maybe eat good food that makes u feel good. sleep, even.


 


ACUPUNCTURE!! When I was at my rock bottom, most depressed, my mom took me to a local acupuncturist. They had a sliding scale so it was affordable for people on any socio-economic spectrum - we paid $15 for an hour and it made a HUGE difference. I felt so, so much better. It's like getting high, but it's healthy for your body and more long-lasting.

You really don't. Whenever things get tough, you will think about it, but you have to realise that in your life, there are things too important that your willing to survive for.

 

When I tried to commit suicide, the main thing that held me back at the time was fear. I was too afraid to die, so I turned that into my motivation to survive. I had to at least live a good life if I can't bring myself to die and eventually, even though I still think about it, I think more about all the things that I have to live for.
