I feel like if your a Woman and you have bad periods if your doctors writes off on it you should be able to call off of work with pay or work from home for a week.

How does that corresponds with Feminism ?

Cause pple say Men and Women are the same we are not. dudes dont have to be miserable cause of their period which comes EVERY MONTH. And therefore I know we shouldn't but men should be more lenient in the work place toward Female employees. Or at least fine avenues that we can still do or Job while yet being more accomendating

There are many ways to stop your period so you don't have to suffer nor need to be off work...

But yeah, man and woman have many differences and people acting like it's not the case are just dumb

but usually those options causes problems down the line with Vaginal infections or even worst.

Staying at home a week every month would make you rather useless (unless you have an office job, then you can in fact do stuff at home) and gives people an excuse to pay women less than men...

If anything, free good quality birth control pills, also for women who need special pills cause they're allergic or smth

I legit can't function without, with my periods only last 3 days (still hate the idea of hormones tho... Causes nasty side effects as well BUT much less pain)

So I've go this right, you don't consider yourself a feminist because you think feminism ignores issues that are specific to women?

so you think its unfair that women can have a few paid days of rest while men can never and thats why you dont consider yourself a feminist?

Actually she's saying feminists are wrong that women and men are the same, because women can go through bad periods and not get off work lol. Weird argument, I think you can believe women and men are different and be a feminist.

i mean i dont know how everyones period is like but mine used to be pretty bad - its been fine the last few months but for years - through highschool and up to recent i could not be physically or mentally comfortable for the first day or so because of back pain. i have scoliosis, but its normally fine through the month. just hurts really bad. whenever i'm home i'd be laying on a heatpad majority of the time. but i never expected to be excused because of that, still went to school and work. i even remember somedays i'd be working and i'd just be crying for hours because the pain was bad. i dont think it provides reason for me to have excuse to take a week off or paid from home. frankly..i work in a warehouse and theres no really "work from home" and i rather just deal with the pain than not get paid for a week. even if it's better now, i still feel my back feels different but i dont need to find my heating pad & sometimes i can deal w/o meds. its painful but isnt necessary to have accommodations from work imo, it can be handled. like even when my back pain made me cry i never expected them to excuse me tho my boss later told me she would of let me leave if i asked.

thats just my take on that tho. i personally dont feel the need to identify as a feminist. its not something i care abt personally.

nooo read by OP again I dkny think I explained myself right the first time

There’s a thing called analgesia. Take it and go to work. Many were doing it hundreds of years ago when pain meds didn’t exist

Yes but the side effects are the following

Side effects of analgesics may include:

Constipation.

Drowsiness.

Dizziness.

Upset stomach.

Ringing in your ears.

Skin itching or rash.

Dry mouth.

Who wants to deal with that while your working

I don't know about that, it has worked for me and most people I know but it depends on the method and the person

I think it's not worthy to have periods if it affects your life to the point you don't wanna go to work

btw birth control pills, for example, are used as treatment for various menstrual and hormonal issues like endometriosis, PCOS, mood swings, acne etc

I don't think feminism tries to deny biologycal differences between men and women, if that was the case they would say that ginecology shouldn't exist because men and women are the same. Bad cramps are considered a health problem even though it's common (in some cases they are caused by other gynecological problems, like endometiosis), you can talk to your doctor about ways to feel less pain in your periods by taking medicine, not only with birth control.

See my friend has her period really bad like this once she had to go to the hospital cause she couldn't move cause her cramps where that bad.

And I'm saying no there should be a program in place that Women If their doctor signed off om it but they could get a week off with pay if their period is that bad.

Women can’t ask for equal pay that we deserve at work if we’re going to work less. How useful will we be to the work force if we’re taking 2-8 days off work every month?and different women in the work place get their menses at different times which means at any day of the week there would be at least one woman taking a week off to menstruat. For years, Menstruation has been used as a reason to dismiss and belittle women and has been treated as some sort of handicap. How do we get past this stigma if we ourselves start treating it as a handicap? It is not an illness, it is physiological. every kind of medication has side effects. You suck it up and you go to work

Of course, this doesn’t include women whose dysmenorrhea is caused by actual medical problems like fibroids, PID, etc

It's not that men and women aren't different it's that differences shouldn't be seen as a reason to discriminate. If an employer for example decided that they wouldn't hire any women anymore because they might get bad cramps and take time off every month then would that be fair to you?

Maybe it's because I'm morbid cause yes I can understand that's why I'm saying their should be placements in the work place that allowed thos
