Which holiday do you prefer New Years or Christmas?

Idk, both feel weird for me. My dad died on the first of december (2006) so every christmas feels even worse than it already used to (my parents fought a lot and also abused me and Christmas was usually a traumatic time). New Years is usually the time when nobody is talking to each other because of what happened at Christmas. Even though I'm not in that situation anymore, it's kinda like 'old habits die hard' but replace habits with feelings.

I prefer New Years. It gives me nostalgia and it makes me feel sad somehow... It shouldn't be a good thing to be sad but I like it, I get emotional when I remember memories and to realize that time goes by way too fast. I wish some moments would last longer or forever. New Years always has this impact on me.

Christmas. The older I get, the less I look forward to new years because it means I have to face all the responsibilities and stress again whereas during Christmas, I actually feel like I have break from everything even if I don't celebrate it.
