It seriously depends on the setting the artists use. You can push the stage back or forth, you can also disable certain areas, make them unable to purchase etc.

I don't believe YG for numbers, the pic can also be misleading. lol

36K is the maximum capacity of the dome when in its 'Baseball configuration'. The maximum capacity for other events - mainly concerts - in around 50K, but the actual number of tickets put on sales will depend on the configuration of the stage.

I may be wrong but I see a few seactions not being used on the very top and the stage looks like it's somewhat set a little forth. So instead of 50k maybe about ~40k.

I'm just assuming, I could be wrong. Still a feat though

Since you asked I also got interested and went to do research.

My conclusion was yes they sold out as you can see from the pictures and videos there was no seating sections closed off etc.. but there definitely wasn't 50k people at that concert.

I think that 50k people is the typical exaggerated media play or maybe journalist heard it was sold out and just used that  50k max concert capacity number who knows.

The reason why I came to this conclusion is this.

Here is TVXQ Tree tour Osaka Dome concert seating chart. I post this because Blackpink had their stage pretty much the same place.

Since we know there is 36,500 seats in that stadium lets say 6500 of those seat were closed off because they are behind the stage.

So there was 30k fixed seat available in this concert so in order to get to that claimed 50k it means there had to be 20k seats in the field area and I think that is just impossible.

Why I think it is impossible to have 20k in that field area is because here is the seating chart for the Blackpink concert field area.

In the upper right corner there is seating section called V-B it is the biggest sized one but there is also many smaller sections. V-B section has 11 rows of 12 seats so there is total of 132 seats in that seating section.

There is total of 83 seating section in the field area even if all of those were the size of V-B and had 132 people in them that would still only amount of 83 x 132 = 10,956 people so around 11k so nowhere close to that 20k.

Since we can see that not all seating section were size of V-B with 132 people in them that means there wasn't even 11k people in that field area. My guess is that there was probably around 8k - 9k people in that field area.

So my conclusion is that rather than 50k people there was more like close to 40k people in that Blackpink concert since like I said about 30k in the fixed seats and maybe around 8k - 9k in the field area.

Pics where I counted how many total seat V-B sized section had.

Here you can see that V-B seating section where it is easy to count it had 11 rows little bit harder to count that each row had 12 seats.

From this pic you can easily count that V-B size section had 12 seats in a row. It is section N-G which seats we can see in this picture so same size as section V-B.
