yukhoe 55
So I grew up in an Asian household, somewhere in Southeast Asia specifically. I'll be taking college entrance exams next ear and I've been thinking about what course to take but my parents told me I'm taking something in the medical course but i really wanna do aviation. I don't really know what to do because they're paying for my education and I seriously don't feel like medical courses are for me, you know? waffles8000 541
tell them aviation is ur true passion, and that u dont wanna waste time and money when u already know its not for u my parents are asian too and i think they were just concerned about the salary and prospects of the career coming out of school. maybe do some research on the annual salary and stuff just to reassure them that u wont be starving if u decide to study aviation. also u can tell them if u work in the medical field to be a doctor or even a nurse, usually 4 years of a bachelors degree is not enough, ur gonna need a masters and a phd and plenty of exams to qualify for the role and at the end of the day, they just want u to live a happy life so if u tell them medicine doesnt make u happy it could also work worse case scenario, u study medicine but pick ur electives as aviation related courses, just to test both out
Pananana 2,284
I used to study pre med because all my cousins are taking med and my family encourage me to do so but I found out that this for me and I not was happy studying. It was bad for my metal health because of the pressure being in a top med school and a lot of my classmates attempted and committed suicide. I dropped after 4 semesters and I found a new course that I was happy to study even though the course was difficult. Please persuade your parents that you don't want to take that course because you think that is not going to make you happy. If you pursue med in the future and you are not happy you will never be satisfied with your life because what you're doing is fulfilling the wishes of others not yours
