I feel strange. Maybe even depressed ?

I don't know ever since I left high school and started college I keep feeling this emptiness inside me...like someone took something from me...I'm just like a husk ....I'm acting and doing the motions to pass and study and plan and shit....I'm not even living I just feel like I'm in some simulated video game and I'm just doing things and before I know it I'm going off to bed....life is just so bleak right now....sigh

I felt a similar way when I graduated, but everyone is different. I would be a goober if I told you that I know the fix to everything that is going on with your right now.

If it gets out of hand, it might be best to take a short break from school, and maybe get away from sites like OH. Just give yourself some time to feel in control of your life and see things in a new light. Life isn't a race, so as long as you are still moving, you will get to where you need to be. Visit new places (especially the free ones!) and give yourself some room to grow and reflect.

You're at a point in your life where growth is incredibly important, so it might be a good time to stretch and let those limbs develop freely.

I understand exactly how you feel. For a long time, I felt like I was just hollow on the inside. It was hard for me to feel anything, or to give a damn about anything. I just did shit because I had to, not because I wanted to.

 

I eventually went and saw a psychiatrist and a therapist and that made a world of difference. I still get depressed from time to time, but I feel much better than I did years ago. Depression is tough, I understand what you’re going through. Never feel scared to talk about it, or to get help.

what do you think is causing this? do you not like college or your major? maybe missing your friends from school? something else?

if you'll find the cause maybe it'll be easier to find a solution.

but if you can and want, consider talking to someone, a professional or someone close to you and if you feel it'll help dont be afraid to take a semester off and do things that make you happy and spend time with people you love

I was depressed and out of place at college so i can relate... all i can say is, it gets better, try planning fun things to do so you have something to look forward to, try having a little fun and not focusing all your time on just studying. I hope you feel happier soon <3

Yeah I was feeling the same, when I finished shcool and went to college. Maybe because I lost a lot of friends, I went to another city. And then there was a lot of homeworks and without friends it was like I lost part of my soul. But well with time I found some friends and it's like sun came out. But then I understood that I didn't have enough time for homework and friends.
