Also saw so many parents saying that their kids were bored and shouldn‘t have to see that. Sad. It‘s a really good short film that should be quite relatable to most asians. Aelir 327 Posted December 20, 2018 Share Posted December 20, 2018 This is the first time I see that and wow this is actually good If I understand it correctly the dumpling is literally a metaphor when the mother sees her child as something that belongs to her and she has to protect, become overprotective, which ruins their relationship, while at the end she ends by seeing him as an adult (and he, himself, becomes more mature in the way he treats her) - so just another human being - and she has difficulties to accept it at first because she doesn't recognize the child she cared for and caused her pain (The moments when the mother cried were so sad and the moment she "eats" him is symbolically amazing) I may be overanalyzing lol but I like this Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
