The mastermind behind various hit music videos namely BTS’ ‘Dope,’ Red Velvet’s ‘Happiness’ and more was also the same man behind SHINee’s Taemin’s solo debut track, Danger’s music video too. Director Kim Sungwook recently sat down for an interview with news media ‘人ë”컬처’ and talked more about his works.

In this interview, the director especially mentioned SHINee’s Taemin as the very first Korean artist he found himself thinking ‘cool’ at. The director was praised not only locally but overseas too for showing the sexy charm of Taemin who had a strong maknae image at that point in time.

The director shared, “Even though Korea tends to show off the sexy side of female singers, there were no such expectations towards male singers. Because I had experiences working in the fashion industry so I approached this by ignoring the standards of a music video.†

The music video showed Taemin’s slender long arms and legs in a delicate way and at the same time, put a spotlight on Taemin's bare upper body which emphasized the provocative side of him. To this, the director said that “Taemin was the first artist that I found cool among Korean artists,†and that “Because I knew how short the amount of time he had to practice his choreography before going into the filming, I was touched by his hard work.â€
