43 years ago. It was Yosue Inoue's album "Kouri no Sekai" (released December 1973, topped the album charts for 1974/1975). The overall total for that album was 1.45 million. Namie has sold 2.41 million.

They're obviously declining but I think the sales are still okay. They've been selling around 400K-500K (first week), 500K-600K since 2013 and it would only go to 700K-800K (highest) whenever it's double a-side/3 versions.

so proud of eito for making that much money doing so well even with very few music releases this year ... it was a complicated 2018 and it feels weird not to see them in the top 5 of selling acts like the past years but they still did so well.
