Miss USA Under Fire For Making Fun Of Fellow Contestants’ English

This started from a video that was posted of Miss Universe’s USA representative, Sarah Rose Summers, on an Instagram live on December 13th. In this video Sarah was with Miss Colombia, Valeria Morales and Miss Australia, Francesca Hung. The three were exchanging comments on Miss Universe representatives from other countries. Sarah said that Miss Vietnam is “so cute and she pretends to know so much English and then you ask her a question after having a whole conversation with her and she goes [mimicing her smiling and nodding]… She also touched on Cambodia representative, Rern Sinat, saying “Miss Cambodia doesn’t speak any English and not a single other person speaks her language. Can you imagine?â€. She added “Francesca (Miss Australia) said that would be so isolating and I said yes, and just confusing all the time, poor Cambodia.â€(Source: Girls Channel, Newsweek)

Sonia , Sarah , and one Australian representative Fransesca are close friend in this event .

The context is whether this miss USA really mocked on miss cambodia by making fun her english or not mean it .

What i got is , she only showed symphatized to miss cambodia but people got her wrong and thinking miss USA was mocking on miss cambodia .

Which video are you talking about the full one or thee edited one? You should've watch the whole video before jumping into the hate bandwagon. I've been following the pageant this year and from what I've observed that miss usa felt bad for miss Vietnam for the language barrier and I think miss usa choose the wrong words to say her sympathy. Miss Vietnam didn't know a lot of english and somehow learned the phrase "okay, stop" and she use that phrase to the things she didn't meant to like when they asked how are you today she said okay stop and they were baffled with the situation and I think miss usa talking about her and not meaning not any ill intention but it came across rude.
