DolphinGremlin 938
Should the Big 3 try introducing their new groups the way Loona did? I.e. putting out solo music videos for each new member one at a time and then debuting them together as group? What do you guys think? Please explain why you think it would be effective or not? alcyone 578
Yes, but at the very end, instead of releasing a horrible synthdump of a debut they'd release a good track.
moonz 5,379
Nope.. Maybe when the group is bigger , it will be good . Doing that while the group is new is useless especially if the group has like 10 ++ members , it will just create un-necessary cost with very little benefit .. xxxcherie 1,945
I was interested in LOONA after stanning Heejin in Mix9, not because of their solos I feel like the "survival show" strategy is still more effective
ByulHarangBona 35,161
Nope. It's will cost a lot. Anyway even if they are not doing it, there will still be plenty of peoples interested in their new groups-Power of the Big 3.
Shun 28
No. Df? Imagine dumping all that money only for the group to flop
DolphinGremlin 938
Hmm well if the group is like 7-9 members I wouldn't recommend it because of cost. But what if it was small like 4-5? I mean people will definitely be interested in groups from the big 3 but it could give them an edge in pushing their group.
singnotes 1,628
It depends. If the group is too big, it won't be cost effective to do this for the Big 3, when they would already get a certain amount of baseline attention for a new group regardless by being from the Big 3. If the group was small, then it might work. The only problem is that I think Loona had too much time between the start of introductions and actual debut. So the members would need to be introduced in succession on a strict plan and debut within a few months of the last member being introduced. solis 10,336
they don't really need to imo for loona, they are the first group under blockberry creative, which is a small company, so they needed something unique that would (hopefully) draw attention to their group, so they came up with the monthly solos concept and they did gain a fair amount of attention from it
Haze 10,915
Nah, they have plenty of brand rep as is. It'd be a waste of money.
evermore 3,280
They can’t. I’m pretty sure BBC patented the rights to that exact promotion method. There was an article about it if I remember correctly.

borealis 497
i dont think they need to do that since they already have followings that will check whatever they release
EXOSUS 2,534
That's unnecessarily time-consuming, especially for girlgroup
eternal glow 6,196
The big 3 don't need it. They have more than enough hype doing the bare minimum. Any big 3 group debuting probably has had way more hype and anticipation than what LOONA got. Most small companies likely don't have the resources and money for this. I don't see many companies following this strategy tbh.

admiralfarizi 436
nah. imo BBC doing that kind of method because they aren't from the Big 3. they need to come up with such elaborate plan to gain fans and popularity. while Big 3.. no. a group debut under the Big 3 name is enough to get them attention and popularity. and yes, imo survival shows has been proven to be the most effective and efficient way to debuting idol. i could see in the future there will be less and less company that debuting their own group.. they will just send them to survival show instead. Pananana 2,284
Sounds like SM rookies but most songs are collab with their senior, appearing in variety shows before debut and fans shows in korea and overseas
