After 26 years, I decided to leave Islam!

I was a Muslim all my life, I was a practitioner too, but the more I grew up the more my opinions and values were contradictions with certain dogmas of Islam. I feel like a hypocrite to follow an ideology of which I was not convinced. I know this is not the best forum to discuss this but I just wanted to clear my mind. I have not announced it to my family yet, I will wait a little longer before that. I still believe in God despite that I no longer believe in Islam. Is there soemone who lived the same thing?

Congratulations. You found the courage to be true to your own understanding. As for having faith in god but not being affiliated, there are increasing numbers of people around the world like that.

One of my school friends had lost belief in god while in school, but it is only recently she came out publicly as atheist (and lesbian), as an independent adult, because her parents are ardent Pentacostal and she feared repercussions. I will advise you, if it is likely to be dangerous to you in any way, please maintain the sham of public piety. Wish you all the best!

As a person who went through something similar not too long ago, all I can say is congratulations and be strong! Trust yourself. ♡

Yes, there are people who believe in the existence of a supermen being but do not subscribe to any particular religious dogma.

Anyway, congratulations on your decisions. Better to live true to yourself

I’m not a Muslim but I can understand your mind.

I wish you the best :lovestruck: .

That would be agnostic I think

I hope you’re happier now though :chu:
