See anything wrong with the advert above?

Maimon Herawati, a journalism lecturer, has initiated an online petition to have the the ad taken off the air.

Maimon appealed to the KPI (Indonesian Broadcasting Commission) to have the commercial pulled and asked Indonesian parents to boycott Shopee through a petition on Change.org. Her reason? A group of women wearing scantily clad clothes that barely covers their aurat (an Islamic term to describe the parts of the body a person should cover up for the sake of modesty) —  what kind of message are we instilling to the pure souls [of this country]?†Maimon wrote in the petition.

Maimon accused the ad of often appearing during the broadcast of children’s programs. After questioning KPI’s role in “protecting the nation’s future generation,†she asked KPI and Shopee to stop broadcasting the “vulgar†ad on social media, in addition to free-to-air and paid TV.

As of writing, the petition has amassed more than 93,000 signatures and is close to reaching its 150,000 target. Sign the petition here if you agree.

They had the nerve to show their wrist, ankles, & shoulders? BAN THEM IMMEDIATELY

Let’s focus on banning punishments Indonesia allows innocent people to have to face instead of worrying about a harmless ad

Kurang kerjaan..No surprise for a country which allowed sexual harrasment's victim get punished in jail instead of the harraser. She should've made a petition for a case more important like this than trivial things like that.

Sometimes, I feel embarrased for my country unimpressed.png
