[Appreciation] Kang Seokhwa from Treasure Box

singnotes

Recommended Posts

He hasn't gotten a ton of time on Treasure Box, so I just wanted to post about him because I love him so much. smile.png He also used to be in JYP apparently.

He had one of my favorite intro videos, singing a rendition of SISTAR's 'Loving You'. And his style of singing is more "trot-like".

He's a super cutie.

And he'd like to say 'good morning' to everyone.

That "attack" video with Yunseo was the cutest thing ever. He's adorable and really talented, not to mention very good looking.

He deserves more attention so I'm glad you did this appreciation thread :)

The Seokhwa - Yunseo - Jaehyuk trio is one of the cutest thing in that show T.T

They may not be the most talented but they work so hard to catch up with the others and never lose their smile

Honestly, this whole show is a mess when it comes to screentime.

And the amount of trainees makes it even worse. I've already limited myself to completely disregard Team C because they're just wayyyyy to young IMO. I don't want them to suffer the industry at their age yet. They still have time and can debut in 1-2 or maybe 3 years. While there's cases when kids had a successful debut at 15 or so (Minzy, Taemin or Seungri) I still wouldn't like them to do that nowadays. Imagine having millions of people throw shit at you at that age from around the world when you're already an emotional disaster due to puberty. Hell nah. Let them have more time.

Tbh, screentime is not as tragic as I thought it would be so far.

I understand the concept about disregarding Team C because it's rough to see young kids get shit thrown at them. But on the other hand, Haruto and Jeongwoo for example are like practically the same age (maybe like 6 months apart?).

Some of the friendships in this show are adorable. Those 3, Yoonbin/Jihoon, Jeongwoo/Yeongue, Byunggon/Hyunsuk, etc. They're all so soft and skinshippy with each other.

Tbh, the 04 liners will be 15 next year, which it's pretty young but a very common age for debut. A lot of kpop idols have debuted and still debut at 14-15 (the most recent example, Wonyoung of Izone has debuted at 14). I think there's some kids in team C like Jeongwoo and Yeongue that would be deserving of debuting since they're pretty talented. Even Haruto is a 04 liner too and he's almost sure to debut because YG loves him.

Yeah, I saw that. Tbh, Im not a fan of anyone debuting below the age of 17/18 or maybe a very mature and prepared 16 year old. But it always depends on the person. This industry is a lions den now, even more than ever before. Its honestly scare AF

Yeah, I know its very common in the industry. I still dislike it though :/

I can understand this viewpoint. It's just very hard nowadays because I feel like the industry in general is starting to reveal trainees younger and younger. I mean, it doesn't even depend on the age tbh. I'd be even scared for mature individuals to be idols at this point (Mino's situation this year comes to mind + TOP :/). They get a lot of shit thrown at them.

Oh yes, OFC. But imagine that happening to someone their age and not "grown man". TOP barely got through that and we almost lost him (if he's even over it by now) and Mino's mental health suffered, too. And they're both adults. This industry is no choke and many times not even fun to be in if you pay much attention to haters which is almost impossible to avoid. I'm happy YG has people they can talk to if problems appear but imagine being 14/15 and people write mean shit about you all over the world. We normal people cry over 1 classmate bullying us, imagine 1 million+. Hell nah.

:/ Yeah, I feel that. Ugh, I'm just hoping that if the younger ones don't make this final line-up, they have the energy to stick with YG and give us the future BG we deserve to have. I wouldn't mind having all the younger ones in a group. It's tough being a trainee for years and years. I mean, I'm already so concerned about Yedam during this show having so much pressure.

And hopefully if the other trainees don't debut, they start trying to promote them in other ways? I mean, getting them like vlive channels was a good start, and they can all start building their own fanbases by just uploading vids. And maybe getting out their names somehow?

I'm somewhat disappointed with how they've been using their channels. It's clear it's not managed by them but YGE. Which I'm okay with but the content is sparse, too sparse. So why even make seperate accounts in the first place. I'd find it cool if there was a daily upload of when they leave the office and shortly tell us about their day or what they did. Doesnt have to be one by one but small groups would be okay. It would show more of each trainee and show their routine to fans. And its nothing TOO personal either to just talk about their work basically.

Also, if the younger boys dont debut now, they dont have to debut under YG, Im sure any company would take them. Trainees seem to often move from one to the other anyway. If they really want this dream to come true, they'll go after it, no matter the agency.

And about Yedam, fuck man. I'm honestly worried for him now. I'm haven't cared as much for him as other people, though I see his talent too ofc. But the amount of pressure he's under, I dont even wanna imagine. And it's obvious YG is milking it. Pressure makes diamonds but too much of it can also break it in the end.

Also, IDK how I missed it but HOW FUCKING TALL IS JunKyu!??!!? He always seemed so fragile and baby-like before and then I saw him in Yedam's Attack vid and was like O.O Or rather, how small is Yedam haha

I agree with the channels thing. When I found out they made separate vlive channels, I got very, very excited? But I had previously been watching the content on the youtube channel, not vlive. And I was thinking that there would be more clips but that it would be too difficult to upload everything to youtube. Assumed that they just took the official looking clips and didn't upload all the other random ones. But I went on vlive yesterday to watch Ep 4 since the youtube didn't have subs yet, and I was shocked that they didn't have other vlive clips. Tbh, they could build insane followings with vlive if used properly. Like, think of how douyin is used in China.....

Yup, if they don't debut now, I'm sure some will just end up switching companies. But I'm developing an attachment to this certain group of boys, and I don't know if I'd have the energy to follow all of them afterwards if they move around. It would be nice to see them together.

Same. Yedam isn't like one of my bias biases, but he is one of those people on the show that I'm very fond of because I DO think he's talented and deserves this debut a lot.

:P If you think Junkyu is tall and Yedam is small...did you happen to see Junkyu stand next to Yoshinori in Yoshinori's attack vid? I think Yoshinori is even taller than Junkyu.

Agreed. He was very shy still on Mix Nine I feel. I'm glad he's becoming more comfortable.
