Only listen to the ladies?

[Seriously]

Hey all,

I listen to all sorts of music from all sorts of artists... (lot's of rap/hip hop in particular)

However, after getting into kpop around 2 years ago, i recently realized something, i only listen to the ladies?

Be that girl groups or female soloists. (with the exception of Kard's boys i guess)

 

It's not that i don't like the guys or intentionally avoided them, it just doesn't seem to interest me as much.

I know i'm probably missing out on loads of great music too...

 

Was just curious if i'm being weird, or if other people tend to find they favor one genders music over the other?

I listen both boy and girl groups quite equally.

No that's not weird at all! I can't relate since I love boy groups and girl groups equally.

But as a multifandom for both, I'd like to know if there is a specific concept that you like for girl groups, e.g. girl crush or a refreshing concept like Twice? Or is it the fact that they're all girls that attracts you to the group?

In kpop, it's only girls I listen to, and in general with pop music.

 

In other genres, I listen to a lot of dudes

i'm the same way - the only male artist i really listen to is ed sheeran but i haven't enjoyed his recent works as much as his older stuff

i don't really do it on purpose i'm just drawn to ggs more i guess

No particular favorite concept, love Blackpink, like some Twice, enjoy some of the more "unusual" concepts like Dreamcatcher too.

I've just never been curious about boy groups?

I'll just have to dive in and give them a go i guess.

I mostly listen to ggs but it isn't a rule. In wider music it is more equally divided.

These days i mainly listen to girl groups or female soloists too, but seventeen is my bias group. I think i cant listen to other boy groups cause i always subconsciously compare them to svt. The only other bg i like is w1 cause i followed p101 religiously

in kpop and pop music i only listen to girl groups/female soloists. in other genres i listen to men, but the number of female acts i listen to still kind of outnumbers them.

I think there’s a lot more boy group songs I like than girl group songs I like, usually because of preferences I have for certain types of vocals and lyrics

 

like I’m not big on the cute concept, and the portion of gg songs that are cute way exceeds the portion of bg songs that are cute

The female artists whose music I’ve most liked don’t really sing in a cute, high-pitched way

ex: Ailee, IU, Dreamcatcher, Davichi, Sistar, Mamamoo, Ladies’ Code

 

I also, however, listen to more female soloists than male soloists
