I’m an Inspirit but I’m aware of the fact that INFINITE isn’t the hottest group anymore. I’m also aware of the fact that there are kids these days who don’t know that a group named INFINITE exist but I’m still stanning them like I did in middle school and high school ㅠㅠㅠ I can’t accept this ㅠㅠ I really thought they would receive a daesang at least once..

 

Honestly, even if kids these days don’t know them, if you mention SHINee, BEAST or INFINITE, anyone would know that they were the real hottest groups. Of course now trendy groups chart on Billboard, get 100 million views but it’s different times. For real, if you ask anyone all of them would know about these groups..

It was to the extent that they also knew their songs and choreos and not only their group’s name.

 

But now the leader is going to the army, and when watching their performances seeing that they’re gonna reach their 8^th year and then 9^th year since debut makes me feel so sad…

 

I guess I really liked them…

 

When Hoya left the group, I wouldn’t say I left the fandom but I just became disinterested in idol groups as I was busy studying and working…

These 3 groups got recognition for their skills as soon as they debuted…

These days there are groups who are goofy right but these 3 groups are extremely funny when they are among themselves yes but even when they are on variety shows. They are groups who hard carry the shows…

I mean infinite is kinda past their glory. They release new albums very rarely anymore and everyone's off doing their own thing so I wouldn't be surprised if infinite disbanded in the next couple years

I can see them taking the Shinhwa route though. Even though they're not coming back every 5 months they're still active as INFINITE. They're even having fanmeetings when their last group comeback was a year ago...

I also remember the days when BTS were constantly compared to Shi-Be-In. I guess many considered them a milestone BTS had to surpass to be considered not just a trend* and closer to EXO, Big Bang and TVXQ level. Shabis and other kpop fans were adamant all through 2015 and 2016 that BTS were just a trend and not on the same level as Shi-Be-In. (Then, I agreed on some points too)

 

 

Shi-Be-In are not as popular as they use to be but they're still successful. I hope my favs are able to have a long and relatively stable career like them too tbh

Yes, it's not surprising that Ifans downgraded Beast success. Beast/Highlight had two big hits for both 2011 and 2012 with Fiction, On rainy days, midnight, and beautiful night.

I remember RM did the interview where he said he and the members (back when they were trainees) went to Beast concert in Olympics Gymnastics Arena. They looked up to Beast and wanted to perform in arena like that someday. Well BTS really did achieve their dreams! In a way I respect and have a soft spot for BTS due to that.

i kinda doubt it, though. most of the members are highly sentimental (especially myungsoo and dongwoo), and the only members who really seem drawn to solo performance are already doing it successfully (gyu, woohyun). hoya was really the only member who was thinking very ambitiously without an outlet (i really want him to find some success but he really needs access to better music).

 

i imagine eventually they might no longer operate as a group much if at all, but i doubt there will be a formal disband so much as members just doing their own thing.

Shinee and highlight are still making some good albums but as someone whose favorite boy group was infinite I haven't really felt their releases the last couple years.

It is sad so many are going to the army now.

inspirit still seem like a pretty strong fandom to me. their concert was super intense and i just went to L's fanmeet and inspirits traveled from other continents to see JUST L (not even the whole group)

Exactly.

 

Every time I think of Infinite's struggle it brings tears to my eyes. They said they would disband if Be Mine didn't do well so they poured all their energies into perfecting it. You can see the emotion when they won on their first stage. To me they are legends. I will always stan these hard working boys.
