I feel ashamed for not knowing until I actually saw them in person and was smacked in the face by how nice and appreciative they are. 100% deserving of 2018's SOTY. They should feel proud of what they've achieved this year. I remember people writing them off last year and, though I was not as into them back then, it angered me to see people mocking them.
